Any map will be more fun and difficult if you play it 1v1 or 2v2

I always feel uneasy when faced with a decent Aeon player, if they get air control things can go down hill slowly..painfully..

Lose air control and lose bomber options >> Get kited by tanks >> try counter with gun acu >> get kited by aeon gun com with range upgrade >> slowly die

Could I do that same thing to myself using Aeon? no I don't have those multitasking skills..so I'm fine with losing to someone doing it to me.

If the enemy team bombs the rocks then whoever built the bomber should be losing their 'lane' due to the early bomber.

As ZLO said, front com reclaiming and sending mass could be quite the optimal play -> haven't yet seen it happen.

Even if ECO loses the rocks they should still be able to build and load an SMD against a nuke rush.

It used to be on gap front got all of one group of rocks but now its meta for eco to get most. Front can still take 1 or 2.

Thank you for your offer! There have been two testing sessions already and everything seems to be working. There are no further tests planned.
You can still help by providing feedback on the new system once it is live. Don't worry to miss it, there will probably be a pretty big announcement about it on the news and forum.

The problem is define fix. A fix can be alot of things. Make it stronger? Fix Sorian excessive amount of checking and otherwise various conditionals.

Sorian in many ways does what it should do and be doing. Asking to fix something can mean 101 different things

Not really a viable thing, significant effort has already been made trying to unearth the source code. Can probably read about some of that and previous similar thoughts from the old and current forums.

Not really, maps like Wonder, Diversity, Twin Rivers etc. are almost never played with fullshare in my experience. Canis River has pretty dense spawns but it's definitely not a cancerous turtle map like Astro Craters or Dual Gap...

@zappazapper said in Game analysis - Replay #14886292:

Maybe we're not all trying to be 1900 rated players, and maybe it's not actually important to address every bad habit immediately, or maybe not ever. And maybe part of what frustrates new players is not just the game itself, but the message they're given when they seek advice - "this is what you need to do to become a 1900 rated player as soon as possible". That can be very intimidating.

I totally agree with you on this. I stopped trying to improve years ago, lol.
And I want to add another thing that I never explicitly stated, but I'm assuming pretty much everyone enjoys playing the game more than analyzing their replays for mistakes. So if that's the case then you especially should just play the game more and it will eventually come to you (with more enjoyment, AND faster, as long as you are consciously trying to improve on specific things).

Well, you yourself said it was an assumption, so I guess I can hardly fault you on it, but yes, I think that's just an assumption. I rather enjoyed watching the replay and writing this analysis. And I question the wisdom of presenting analysis like it's some kind of loathsome chore. To use another musical analogy, I usually enjoy rehearsing with my band more than I enjoy actually playing the gigs. We all kind of do. Most musicians kind of do. And similarly, I don't consider analysis as some kind of negative consequence of making a genuine attempt to improve; I look at it like "WHAT?! I get to write analyses of my games TOO?!" I dunno, maybe everybody just looks at this like it's a video game. I can think of no other game where anybody would even think of doing an analysis of how well they're playing and what they have to do to improve. Usually you play the game and either you're good or you're not, and mostly the rest of the people playing the game are happy when you're not. There's just something different going on with this game, and like I said, I just recently decided that I wasn't going to deny myself the experience anymore. I'm GOING to write analyses. Lots of them. I might write analyses more than I actually play. I might start writing analyses of YOUR games 😆

Seriously though, whether it's been beneficial or not is debatable, but what's not is that it CAN be genuinely enjoyable if you allow yourself to enjoy it. We're all different.

@archsimkat Of course you at some point need to learn how to play the game properly. A noob friendly mod is like learning to ride a bike with training wheels. At some point the training wheels obviously need to come off. The question is whether allowing (NOT forcing) games with training wheels to start can help some people not get too discouraged initially or actually learn the game a bit faster by not being overwhelmed by all of the different things there are to learn in the game right from the start, or if they simply develop bad habits that become entrenched. It certainly might be better to just learn decent build orders, but obviously, a lot of people don't bother. It's plausible that some people don't want to watch a build order youtube video, but will just play the noob mod, then eventually learn more and like the game more and stop using the mod because a lot less of their games were ruined in the first minute of the game.

Edit: I think generally in the game, not just in a noob eco mod, it would be good for an audio warning if you are stalling. "You must build additional [pylons] Power!"

Just so you are aware. Any test maps you will find are usually trying to measure sim speed, not FPS. Almost nobody cares about FPS, because sim speed is the thing that causes the game to slow down, FPS is usually good enough.

If we haven't answered doesn't necessarily mean we declined your application. We are onboarding new moderators at a steady pace and have all the applications still stored. It would be less than ideal to get 7 or some other larger number of new moderators on to the team at once, and try to get everyone acquainted with moderation tasks, tools etc. 🙂

I apologize it was not meant to be as attack on you or the mod team but i will call it fair game that people who signed up to be moderators or other duties that FAF is looking or searching for they should be at very least be updated and not put them on hold for seven+ months (in my chase at least). And i do know that it is not on you for process being so long but reported games have piled up almost twice in the number from what i heard, and yet no new moderators have been picked to help them out even if is temporarily.

Tho on that note you did offered me later on if i wanted to update my application to push it more up to mod team so i will commend that respectfully.

    I am 23,
I play since about 7/8 years.
I have more then 5000 games if u look at everything together.
Since a longer time i am 1700 rated.
I feel like getting worse bc of very busy irl stuff.
If I get more time again I feel like I am ready to improve a lot.
