I was referring to how you're trying to load it in . The init file can be found on Github, the base game assets that contain Lua files are no longer loaded. See also these lines. That means any changes to those files will not be picked up by the base game, and I suspect that is what you're doing here. I don't know how your changes are setup, but you can try loading it like how people load Kyro's lobby. You can put the file in the gamedata folder of faforever (usually found at: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\gamedata) and call it like one of these exceptions.

I wanted to come back and update this thread for others who may have this issue. I was only able to log in by downloading Firefox and setting it as my default browser. Once I did that, it successfully authenticated me. Things to note: Chrome did not work (Chrome already existed on my machine) Edge did not work (Edge already existed on my machine) Firefox worked; Firefox was not previously installed on my machine; it was a fresh install (no idea if this being a fresh install mattered) Uninstalling/reinstalling FAF did not help Other FAF clients did not work (only tried Ethereal - not sure if there are others out there)

Most likely something is blocking the client from talking to API.faforever.com or you have a spotty/bad connection that just drops.

The problem is using the ~ for /home/fred Use this to launch instead: /home/fred/faf/run "%s" Hope this helps and your username is fred

Something blocking your network connection. Disable security software.

I tried the stuff you said i'm pretty sure i did all of it and i just tried to play another game and the game is still crashing. game_17229453.log

I am recieving the same error. I really want to play but i cannot even login because of this steam link error.

Have you disabled your security software - maybe it is blocking it. Also, you can try a different drive, instead C to write files.

Just want to say I encountered the issue today on latest windows 10 and Opera browser. My version is 2022.4.1. Switching to edge fixed it but not ideal for newcomers without java background
