I really don't see the problem this is solving at a high level of play.
T3 engineers consume 18-20m/s for T4s/nukes/arty, and 24-25m/s (30m/s Scathis) for game enders. So a huge spending of 800m/s requires around 32 engineers in one place to build something meaningful. I don't think 32 engineers is so difficult to manage that we need engineering stations, especially for a one-time thing like an artillery/nuke/game ender rush.

That covers large projects, so now we can look at smaller projects:

Economic structures: Mexes build super fast, so no pathfinding issues there. T3 Pgen/Fab grids are a great option if you have to spend lots of mass (as opposed to T2 fabs), and they average out to 20m/s per engi, which is plenty enough for the time when you will be building them: when you are just building up your eco past T3 mex. And late game when you have a huge eco yet still want to expand it the fab grids you can split into just two or three groups. It'll be safer and is easy to do. Also since eco takes up so much space, you'll need an unbalanced amount of buildrange to make the engi stations good here. PD/Defenses: These things are already very strong and fast to build, removing pathfinding will just make that easy to do on a large scale, which is not a good thing since it buffs a boring and already decent strategy. This also nerfs artillery a massive amount because you can pretty much always near-instantly build a shield anywhere in your base as long as an engineer is nearby. I think artillery is already quite weak and easily countered by proper shielding, so this nerf is unnecessary. Factory assistance: This is one thing where engis can be problematic, because units require a ton of buildpower and engis slowly get into a formation around the factory. It's resolved by the "interrupt pathfinding" hotkey, and you can write a UI mod to run that hotkey when giving an assist order (GAF did this)/the engi comes into range. I personally spam the hotkey all the time when assisting/building so I am biased against engi pathfinding issues ("32 engineers is not hard to manage").

I'll also agree with what FTX said on Discord which is that it makes the game into an all-or-nothing situation because there is no way to run the buildpower away to save it (a nuke would be devastating), but it is also much harder to attack buildpower.

As for engine limitations, yes it isn't possible to filter nukes/SMD, and I don't think you can make it so you can only reclaim allied units.

ACU and all units increase is physical size as they vet.

It's not by far the best or my best. Who here has made their own signatures avatars.

I'm happy to not have one sentence posts inflated in size due to very large signature images honestly.

The last thing I made was that promotional logo for LOTS.

I'm surprised no one noticed I used the fonts that came packed with the game

The supcom typefaces only work in supcom because it is a 9 year old strategy game. You can find better familes for any other use. try fonts.google.com

OC of transport is something I learned of a few days ago as well. Have yet to use it in anger.

I have a middlin' 34" ultrawide and stream at native 2560x1080p using the NVENC encoder. At the maximum twitch bitrate, it uses <1Mbit/s and any scaling issues are avoided. Yes, people with 4:3 aspect ratio screens are going to get black bars, but that's their problem. I don't stream for money and can't be arsed about subs and bits and whatnot, but it's something to keep in mind if you have a commercial interest in it.

I specifically got a 1080p monitor because I wanted to dual-screen with my old 27"er, but it turns out the setup is just too wide for the nook where I sit. I /should/ have gone for 1280 or more vertical pixels in hindsight, but I can live with it. Needless to say, I could never return to a smaller screen size for FAF, the increased viewport is just so much nicer and improves your situational awareness.

One problem I did have was that the default UI layout is not workable for me - the resource bars at the top left are basically out of your ocular angle and you don't even see it flashing red. MovableUI mod sorted that out for me, I now place my stuff towards the center of the screen and it works well. Even though the mod has some issues, I couldn't go without it even on a smaller screen I think.

Oh - I'm using a GTX970 for playing and encoding and it's powerful enough even at the highest quality settings I can configure. My bottleneck is my processor really - I only have 4c/4t and would recommend at least 4c/8t for creating a quality stream with overlays and allsorts.

At the moment the plan is that you are placed a bit lower than you "should" be at the start. That is not necessarily the first subdivision.
But we will have a look at that in a test phase where we monitor the system while it is running in the background.

    Idk.

    Some people look for that.

I know I do. When I play rocket league (mainly competitive 2s) I almost never team up. so I'm almost always in randoms vs premades and my team generally wins.

    Same could apply for supcom.

Anyways to bridge the gap more you could also set up discord to throw you into automatic channels if you consent to it the way we had mumble set up back in the day. and then you're a premade too.

You will have to forgive me, but I am planning to do some vault changes to the maps and mods where only authorized "whitelist" authors are allowed due to the excessive unreliability and mess.

However, I am being challenged as the M&M councilor and will not make any further moves until we know who is the council.

    I mean there's ctrl-V.

    Have you tried that?????

when you do ctrl-V you can do spacebar-camera-rotation at any high, and it sticks when you zoom in and out.

by default it disables the icons but if you disable that mode (ctrl-V again) it keeps the camera angle AND you get the icons (but if you use spacebar again then the camera angle will be reset when you zoom out because you're in the normal mode again)

Blazes can beat mongoose when they are alone. The problem is blazes are useless against mongoose with pillars/shields. ACU range upgrade + OC is a better counter to mongeese on small maps.

Obsidians are really good unless kited or OCd. The good news is that they can survive a single storage OC (they require about 10k energy storage to kill, I think).

Aeon TMD are the best if and only if you can build 2 near each other. This guarantees near invulnerability to missiles. A single TMD can be easily defeated with two TMLs or TMD firing in close succession.

Swifties are not so much better against T1 inties that they are a guaranteed air win. The main advantage to Swifties is that they kill Strat bombers almost as well as ASFs, so having a few swifties on-hand means you won't get obliterated by an enemy getting T3 air ahead of you and rushing a strat bomber. 5 Swifties can shoot down an unescorted strat bomber. 10-15 swifties can take down a few ASF and generally hold the line until you can get T3 air yourself. (Don't try to use swifties to hold against T3 air indefinitely... They get obliterated by half their mass cost in ASF.)
