    Couldn’t we sell it as the lights being switched on at the end of the construction process and just leave the animation running with non player related neutral colors like black?

    Best place to make a sudjestion like this would be over on the faf client GitHub repository. https://github.com/FAForever/downlords-faf-client/issues/new/choose here you can create a feature request and the maintainers are more likely to see it.

    I'm afraid this won't be possible. The entire feature is one large assembly patch and those are very difficult to customize in such a way.

    I think the ideas presented are intriguing, but I am concerned about the current player base for ladder and TMM. The number of people who play these modes is already quite low, and implementing features that allow players to choose which kind of map style they want to play could potentially harm the already small minority of players.

    However, I do see potential for these ideas in the future. As the game evolves and attracts more players, these features could become more viable and beneficial. But for now, given the state of the game and its player base, I am not entirely convinced that implementing these features would be the best course of action.

    Nobody thinks timed expansions is a bad thing.

    What is bad, is that the players don't know that FAF changed the most-used strategy of noobs for how to beat any missions. We can do a better job of telling players about it. See below.

    I instead suggest adding an option to reduce particles all the way to zero
