    I agree with you that we should not overload our users. That is why it is such a struggle to add features to the lobby: it is already full in my opinion.

    He's not wrong, any change to the speed of any unit in the game in any way is a balance change regardless of if you think that's the case.

    Once the new CPU benchmark test is done, what about having a (fairly forgiving) minimum score/time that is required running the benchmark to join the 2v2+ matchmakers, to reduce one cause of slowdown? E.g. you'd require a better CPU for 4v4 than 2v2, and wouldnt have any restriction on 1v1.

    That said I'd see it as a much more minori ssue - the issue I come across by far the most is also just having the game start in the first place - the majority of the time it times out after a couple of minutes on the Setting up automatch screen (with the reason being due to lack of response from other players)

    Although it sounds like the core issue (stopping people who cant connect from joining) is being worked on, additional things that might help improve the experience would giving more information both on the progress with connecting to other players (if this is possible), and the reason for the failed connection beyond the current message (e.g. say we could connect to 6 out of 8 players, and were unable to connect to [name] and [name]'. If you're unable to connect to any other players then it would add to the end a message asking them to not try joining future matchmakers until they've resolved the issue/to seek help on the forum or something. I.e. it's quite possible that people are queuing, not able to connect to anyone, and then just keep retrying without realising they're the cause of the problem.

    I am a sera player for the most part and love the chicken as is personally. Not sure if the animation effects turning but to me I would be worried that changing it would affect the engrained meta use of the unit. Its frailty is part of what makes it so endearing to me lol.

    On a side note, the hover chicken does look cool but I am curious does it now hover over water rather than being submersible? Just imagining 3 chickens hovering over the ocean racing out to take on a naval force....that's about the only way I can imagine ever being good at navy....with hover chickens lol

    To quote myself in the association chat earlier today:

    better memory management better access patterns removing redundant code (that doesn't impact the game) refactoring the code for better performance (as an example, all units (regardless of what unit) tries to run a 'UnderwaterMove' sound every time they change their movement (stopping, starting, cruising, top speed, etc))

    And yes - they did change some gameplay to favor a gamestate that offers better performance. As an example: we can easily have 500+ t1 engineers at some point in the game. They buffed their factories to have more bp in comparison to engineers to naturally reduce the number of engineers. But they're not that big in my opinion

    As Sprouto mentioned, we're working on it. The code base is large, and it is manual work. We take it one step at a time 🙂 .

    I realize that not every map or game style is catered towards it or another. I'm aware of the reasons for and against, was just stating my preference. I prefer quick games so i can start another. But I'm also not against tweaking it because I've had good and bad games with both ways and everyone has already argued ad nauseum in plenty threads about it.

    If tweaking this at least improves this aspect then it's at least worth it.

    You might find adjusting the game speed to +1 or +2 to be helpful. It's still very manageable to play at these rates and they'll cut down game time.

    Ended up manually throwing together a testing bundle (expected a failure). And it worked without a problem. I looked into it and I was wrong it wouldnt be as simple as a binary compatible DLL. Neither MohoEngine.dll or LuaPlus_1081.dll are actually used by Supcom. Both are statically (lib) compiled into the exe.

    Doh.

    I think it is more insulting to be trolled when you're trying to contribute to the conversation and bring up points of view that other people may not have considered, than anything I said.

    I know English is not everyone's first language here, so I will clarify what I said.

    I did NOT say Jip was stupid. I said I DIDN'T think he was because we both clearly knew the proposed change would save more than two clicks a game. So, since he was NOT stupid, he must have been trolling.

    I chose my words very carefully to show how egregious his derisive and contemptuous response to my argument was. I would say "please read my words more carefully next time," but the point is moot because I won't be contributing any more thoughts because I'm done with being trolled and insulted.
