Ok, thx for the reply! It's just it was taking less than a week with previous reports, so I began to wonder if reports are being reviewed at all now)

    Let's see:

Apple dropped support for OpenGL long ago and skipped Vulkan (required to emulate DirectX) Apple somehow disclosed device details so that Linux support since 2017 is reduced to basic features different CPU architecture will cause huge overhead on emulating x86.

Apple works hard for years to keep Linux developers out of their ecosystem. But Wine and Proton are primarily Linux applications. Maybe some hardcore fanboys try to support it, but it will never reach the compatibility again it once had.

The latest NVIDIA 460.79 drivers are causing this problem.
You can downgrade your drivers to 457.51 to fix it.

Please report it to NVIDIA in Geforce Experience or in their Forum:

Running 83.0, latest version. Disabled all my addon's, restarted the browser, and the issues still continue. It is only in the sub categories (example Suggestions, Balance Discussion) the scroll issue appears. There is no scroll issue in the main categories (example General Discussion, I need help).

With the pagination setting, setting the number of topics or post per page does not save any other value than 20. I can make other changes in my account settings and they save just fine and are applied as soon as I navigate to another page.

    Hello ILoveMyFamily143 ,

Black Ops has 3 mods for FAF:

    BlackOpsFAF-ACU
    BlackOpsFAF-Unleashed
    BlackOpsFAF-EXUnits

you can find the lates version inside the vault or you can directly download it from here:
    https://forums.faforever.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=12416

Have in mind you must not use the Black Ops icon support mod with FAF.
The FAF game version has its own icon support implemented.

@YouTheNoob Ram is in fact the limiting factor in any program that aims to be efficient. See also:

    http://www.cs.uu.nl/docs/vakken/mov/index.html#lecture

Which is a course about program optimization. There are two whole lectures dedicated to how RAM (and the CPU cache) works and how you can 'feed the beast' the most efficiently.

And about your suggestion on the thread count / processor usage: The game is threaded (render thread, sim thread, audio thread, etc) - but the sim thread (the limiting factor) is not subdivided into various threads. And that is why we have sim drops while 'leaving' all that computing power unused.

And to remain on-topic: a CPU with a large cache that can work with fast memory is beneficial - more beneficial than having a 5ghz CPU.

    Could be a few things:

Firewall - The firewall will block the connection for security reasons. Windows comes with a Firewall that might stop the connection. Normally, when you install most programs, it will create a firewall exception, that will allow the traffic through.

    https://www.microsoftpressstore.com/articles/article.aspx?p=2224362&seqNum=2

There is also the possibility, that your antivirus has a Firewall. Try conguring both.

Another possibility, is that if you share the internet, then someone has blocked a port somewhere in your network eg if you live in student accomodation. Some ISP routers come with advanced security features, that allow you to block ports to prevent users from using specific programs.

NAT (Network Address Translation) can also cause problems, though I think this is less likely. It might be that another user has configured all the FAF traffic to go to another address, that isnt yours. This is known as port forwarding.

Let me know how you get on.

Left Alt + Tab will cycle through the windows programs. I tend to do education between games and look at Firefox. Normally, once the game starts it makes FAF full screen.

So for anyone that has the same problem as me, it appears that this was caused by a driver issue or a USB plugged in to the monitor.

I used the windows driver update to search and found there was 5 drivers that could be updated. I'm pretty good with windows 10 but ive never seen the driver option before.

I also removed a USB stick that seemed to load every few hours. I believe that this was a case of bad drivers and having a USB stick plugged in that would cause an error after x amount of time. Fingers crossed, since the driver update and taking the USB out, I havn't had a single crash. Fingers crossed....
