If you have any questions, feel free to reach out either in this very thread or through Discord (please scroll down to category "tournament chat" and use channel: "open tourney discussion"). About this tournament series

The "Super-Noob Olympics" are our entry-level tournaments. First and foremost, they are meant to be a sparring floor for beginners. Map pools will be appropriate for the skill level e.g. usually avoiding 20x20 and high reclaim maps. As beginners tend to be less familiar even with the "classics", we try to release the map pool somewhat early in order to provide you with some time to practice.

      About the Dojo tournaments

We alternatingly hold entry- and mid-level tournaments on a monthly basis, also alternating between 2v2 and 3v3. Usually, we run our events on the 4th Saturday of the month with 2 PM UTC being the kick-off time.

      Current rotation:

      • Average Joe 2v2 (u1650 individual, u3000 combined)
      • Super-Noob 3v3 (u1250 individual, u3300 combined)
      • Average Joe 3v3 (u1650 individual, u4500 combined)
      • Super-Noob 2v2 (u1250 individual, u2200 combined)

Feel free to check out upcoming events and maybe even sign up early: Tournaments.

On said tournaments page, you can also find the hall of fame and all previous results including replay IDs and lineups. If you want to research an opponent who took part in one of our previous events, you surely can.

      About the Dojo

Do you want to take part in one of our tournaments, but you don't feel ready yet? Join the FAF Dojo Discord, find a trainer (either as an individual or as a group) and put in some hours to gain more confidence in your own competitiveness.

      average-joe-olympics-2.png

Our recent Super-Noob tournament was a success. Now we are launching another test ballon to gauge how much interest there is for a different rating range. Will you be Joe enough to take part?

      Changes:

      • We are going to use global ratings instead of ladder ratings from now on, as the 2v2 ladder is not populated enough to provide "accurate" ratings
      • We are going to switch from Sundays to Saturdays.
      • We are going to recurringly hold our events on the 4th Saturday of the month in order to not clash with the uX 1v1 series dates held by Stryder and his team.
      • We are going to match our tournament start with the other tournament series', so our events will now kick off at 2 PM UTC.

    • RE: Matchmaker Pool Feedback Thread

It would be great if you guys would somehow mark the ones in the pool that are going to stay for longer than the current month. this would help with the decision which maps need more attention in training sessions. Something like a specific background color or an asterisk in the pool thread and/or the pool visible on the client.

@Sheikah Thanks for the clarification. As said before, it's just what I've heard from folks being in charge of the pools, who might not have the best understanding how the architecture looks like.

How much effort would that be? Would it be somewhat feasible?
