However, due to the nature of the event and the things that transpired, I have decided to withdraw the funds that were for 2nd and 3rd place. And also give only faction logo avatars to the 2nd place team.
There are multiple reasons for this, I will name a few. The actual competitiveness of this event aside from the 2 teams that participated until the end and a few helpful others, it was honestly really unencouraging. There were arguments between players, kicking opponents from lobbies repeatedly, lack of co-operation and it was just plainly disrespectful. There were also many no-shows which meant we had to scramble to find players to even start the tournament. There were only 4 teams, one forfeited after 3 maps, and another was disqualified.
The reason I host tournaments is so that people can have a fun experience, improve and experience more competitive environments. This was not the case yesterday. I'd like to apologise to the players who took time out of their day to be there and were willing to play until the end. I never want to make a post like this, but sadly sometimes these things happen and we'll work to make sure they don't happen again.
And on that note, I'll use the funds taken away and use it for another team tournament that will be announced in the next few weeks.
