      imho FAF is fine without massfabs, just don't overbuild power, or if you did massively overbuild - you can just reclaim it. imho in BAR there are some things that prevent turtle gameplay, and t1 massfabs are not very efficient and require space and they explode... BAR only has 1mex -> t2 mex -> t3 energy (afus) + massfabs while in FAF you have t1 mex -> t2 mex -> t2 mex with storage -> t3 mex -> massfabs or sacus you go from 2 mass per mex point to 27 while in BAR it is only like from 2 to 8 basically what i want to say is that FAF already has plenty of ecoing opportunities and i would not want it to have another somewhat efficient way of ecoing. Also often FAF maps feel like they have more space, and building explosions feel smaller, while in BAR you have less space and building explosions feel bigger Edit: You can also make an energy storage i kinda like cheaper and bigger energy storage in BAR... but in FAF storage space is also tied to overcharge, so making storages cheaper buffs the overcharge, so you can't do that for no reason Edit: also agree that massfabs in BAR are a big noob trap. Solar+massfab is like 22x less efficient than making mexes

      Thank you for the reminder. It is not the solution. I'm not sure if the BAR team is even interested in such a collaboration. I'm sure they have enough problems and interests of their own to manage . I personally have no interest of working tens of thousands of hours towards a project that all existing contributors of FAForever lack the collective experience and expertise to pull off. And none of those hours would be paid either. It took more than a decade for BAR to be in the state that it is now. And it will take us just as long. Even if we fork their project as a starting point. The real issue that we've been experiencing is the malicious actors. These won't go away with a new engine. And I don't often agree with Ftx, but I agree with this: @FtXCommando said in You guys ever thought if moving to a new engine?: You obviously can’t do that when BAR is missing a whole tech level, new models will need to exist. Don’t see the point in porting over a game that plays differently, is called differently, and looks differently. Just create a new game at that point. With a new engine everything will be different. Everything will feel different. Players will experience the game different. If we built our own engine and/or game then it will in all likelihood be a different game. The average FAForever player is part of a picky and limited crowd. Picky as in that other RTS games that work just as fine did not scratch their itch. And limited as in that as far as I can see it is not financially sound to take up such a project. That means we are both unable to satisfy the audience. And the audience is likely so limited that even if we can satisfy them it would be financially still be a disaster.

      I just recreated it with Czar. I may be dumb. It happens when 1 hotkey is responsible for several units, and it locks your clicks for you to order with left click. I just had to right click to get out.
