    • RE: How come you don't play ladder?

I stopped basically playing global games due to too much gap/astro and similar and to long lobby times. 4v4 for me works much faster and is the same fun like playing global, except being limited to 8 players :-/. 1v1 is fine as well, but a completly different story in the experience. 2v2 does not happen for me due to the lack of other players ... sadly.

Can speak for a friend as well: he never played 1v1 because taking care of everything everywhere on the map by himself is just to much for him. So he only plays 2v2 or larger team games.

    • RE: UI Party Mod

Find 2 videos reproducing it + the 2 game logs on the above share.

      • increase the sound volume to hear my voice ... it is pretty silent
      • notice that there are only 2 mod loaded (common mod tools + ui party)
      • I forgot to show the ui party settings in the videos ... there is a screenshot as well for that

    • RE: UI Party Mod

      Hi nine2,

with this issue, I run into it every game multiple times. But I use patrol a lot over attack move.

Reproduced it now with just a commander and a game with only common mod tools + ui party. In ui party the mod is enabled, watch units was on and start units in ground fire mode as well.

The 7th queued patrol I made reproduced it. See between 00:23 seconds and 00:25 seconds. Game id #19097091.

PS: It reproduces as well with only common mod tools + notifications 5.2 on under the same conditions.

    • RE: UI Party Mod

      Hi,

I noticed an issue when ui party's "watch units" is on:

      • select a unit
      • give it a multi-step patral queue using shift
      • sometimes, after finishing the queue and releasing shift, the patrol icon on the mouse cursor remains active

If you dont notice that, your next click breaks your patrol queue you just made and the unit(s) start to patrol to where you last clicked. I am not sure if other queued commands might be affected as well.

I could reproduce this with just ui party and common mod tools being active ... no other mods. Just the ACU is enough to reproduce.

      • ui party 15
      • common mod tools 1 (10/10/16)

Any ideas how to fix that? Thx.

    • RE: many recent game crashes

@Uveso I have no interrest in games vs. AI. I just used those games to diagnose game crashes with an UI mod. I did not bother at all about the AIs performance and mine wasn't the best for sure as well. I just wanted to crank fast games to test game stability with various mods at high game speed.

I could give you some kind of comparison (better/harder or not) ... but my opinion whether the AI is right is worth a shit due to basically no experience. Do you want that?

    • RE: many recent game crashes

It turned out to be caused by an old version of selection deprioritizer. However I had "Selection Deprioritizer 4.1" installed, but the "Selection Deprioritizer" is more recent and works fine. Its settings are a bit different, but I will manage it.

By doing some fast games vs. AI with some mods turned off I found that the crash always happens in the moment of unit selection. That pointed me towards this mod.

I will play some more real games next friday to finally verify that it works again. Thx for the support :-).

      @arma473 @Reckless_Charger I know both "tricks"/optimizations .... but thx anyways.

@Amygdala What do you mean with "reminder"? See screenshot for my current wanted mods. I cannot find anything like "Additional reclaim info", but you propably mean "Advanced reclaim info"? I will try that.

after I made my game work again with the mods I want to have (see https://forum.faforever.com/topic/1519/ui-mod-selection-on-game-creation) it started to crash each game for 3 games in a row. It feels like it always happened with in the moment my first T2 mex finished.

To copy stuff over from my old PC was the way I broke it here. I now deinstalled downlords client and tried to clean all remainders of it. With a clean install and all mods installed again from the vault it now really works like a charm.

Well ... not fixed yet :-/.

When starting a lobby the mods are not selected in that lobby, even though they were selected on game creation in downlords client. I have to manually select them there and with the next game the default on game creation has changed back the original state (see screenshot in first post).

Any ideas how to fix that?

    • UI-Mod selection on game creation

      Hi,

I have 2 PCs I play FAF on ... and one is new and so I had to set up everything from scratch shortly.

On that new pc I have the same UI-mods as on that old one. But when I create a new custom game (with the downlord client 1.4.3), the mods selection however deselects some of the mods I want to have running. I have to select them again each time when creating a new game on that new pc.

On the old one however all the mods I want to have are selected by default. Selecting them once and creating/running a game does not save that however :-(.

What can I do to get the same behaviour on both PCs? How to make all the mods I want to have to be selected by default?

      Thx.

    • New PC, FAF can't start games

      Hi,

I am on a new PC (Windows) and installed Downlords FAF Client (1.3) + SupComFA (from steam).

When I try to open a game (no mods, regular FAF game type), the ice adapter notification pops up in the bottom right, but instantly goes away again and nothing happens. I do not enter any lobby and the DFC remains open.

I noticed the error.log in the DFC folder, which contains an error and has a matching timestamp to my failed new game (see below). The client.log messages follow as well.

Anyone who can help me? Thank you.
