Footage of the deaths of real people on the official FAF broadcast of the tournament. Is this normal?
-
Why do we see a video sequence during the official broadcast of the largest tournament, which shows footage of real fighting that led to the death of people? Even if it's in the form of a meme. There are enough scenes in the movies that could be used. But FAF decided otherwise. I would like to hear an official response.
Upd: The title of the post has been changed

For those that haven't watched the whole stream, what exactly are we talking about? Feel free to clip the relevant fragment from here.
-
@IndexLibrorum Is it normal for the FAF to show the reclaim at the place of death real people?

-
I consider the topic's title unnecessarily provocative (edited: title was changed) but agree in the essence
Official FAF translations should not use footage from real wars
It is a very sensitive topic and has no place in entertainment content -
Ah, I see. I'll have a chat with modteam and we'll get back to you on this soon.

I am grateful to those who, solely on personal enthusiasm, make us content and stream our favorite game. But show real footage of people dying... This is not what I would like to see in game streams.
-
@Skrat Looking at a few clips, it seems the intent wasn't to show case the ongoing world of politics rather to meme of what simulated battle would be in terms of Supreme Commander in the real world. None the less, this will be discussed in a later conversation.

I suffered moral damage, After watching the video, I remembered what happened 3 years ago, because one of the shots was from my city, at that moment I was on the verge of death, I ate rats, and lived underground
-
@Syndicus The clips made from the films were beautiful and funny. Clips where real people die and reclaim remains in their place are not funny
-
@Syndicus Would it have been funny if the footage of the death of the American military had been used for the clip?
-
What's next? Will we use the footage of September 11 and the fall of Ahwassa on the air grid? Sounds like fun!
-
@Skrat Again, I don't think the caster had a malicious intent, to post those videos. And yes, the 9/11 video gets overused in every video. As stated before, this will be discussed.
-
@Skrat said in Is Faf outside politics? Or is it a blatant lie?:
@Syndicus Would it have been funny if the footage of the death of the American military had been used for the clip?
Yes. I have no idea why you think it was a specifically targeted selection rather than just a recent famous clip.
It shouldn't have been shown on the official FAF stream but let's not turn it into something different than what it was.
-
@JaggedAppliance The title of my post turned out to be overly emotional. I agree. But I also hope that the official broadcast of the tournaments will not use footage of the deaths of real people.
-
I genuinely feel like once again it's the russian victim card being played over and over again...
And yes, joking about horrible stuff is fine. And for many people it is part of the coping mechanism.
So I see no reason to start a witch hunt like that.Especially as it was said, it's gonna be internally discussed to make sure not to include "divisive" footage on the faflive.
As from what I was aware, it wasn't run through anyone what kind of content the memes are gonna actually contain.
Just that FAF memes from Derp channel are gonna be shown during the dead air moments. -
@E33144211332424 Good. I don't mind. But then I would like consistent solutions. Can I joke about horrible stuff in a live chat? In the game chat? In the faf client chat?
-
This is fucked up, i wont stand for this
-
Yes, yes you can? Though it's up to the mods to decide if you crossed the line or not (and we all know how inane they tend to be).
And let's be honest, there was no gruesome footage really show on stream. As evident on the footage provided in the links.
Hell, the movies that people suggested here often have more gruesome footage than what was shown in the memes. There is no bodies, no blood no nothing. Just machines being shown. That yes, have people inside them. But movies imply the exact same thing happening.
So I really see no difference here. If you are fine with movies, you should be fine with this too. -

It does actually. Do you not realize this meme is used everywhere and all the time?
