      News + Maybe some leaderboard type stuff or maybe most viewed/rated replay or something would be nice content wise.

      On a technical level I'd prefer ugly and fast over fancy looking but borked and using more resources than pretty much anything else on my computer.

      The home page for me right now uses ~500M of memory (theres about this much change in the total 2G for the client when loading it) which is obscene when my entire browser with youtube, gmail, and about 70 tabs plus extensions uses ~860M. Seriously, the game launcher using more resources than the game and most of my daily applications combined when its been used a while is not acceptable. I don't care if I dont get round_edges.png and smooth_animation.avi.

      Honestly the number of failed teles on me and the number of times Ive tele'd, killed everything and not gotten out suggests that tele is pretty easily countered.

      Telemaser isnt just the cost of gun+laser+tele. Its also a few thousand mass of energy storage and many, many thousands of mass of PGens plus the lost factory time where you make the upgrade plus you have to try and avoid being scouted for a hot minute while you build the thing.

      Map pool is of such variable quality. If people could veto maps or the pool was so big as to not repeat the same 3 or 4 broken maps over and over it'd be such a nicer experience.

      For the poor (or free) people, Kdenlive has a windows build now (and the newer builds seem stable from the people Ive recommended it to) and it can do a lot of nice things. For those wanting free photoshop and hated GIMP: have you either tried GIMP with the single window mode option ticked on the windows dropdown or gimpshop.

      Connection issues, client stability is trash and when it works its a laggy mess, communication from dev team to players is inexistent. Theres also a culture of denial when it comes to technical issues.

      Balance team seem to be on a diet of shrooms or something of late.

      I looked it up. Tele takes you at best, around 5 minutes to execute and costs in the region of 2M power (and thats without actually going anywhere) and costs 19,800 mass in upgrades. You need at least 4 T3 PGens, though 6-8 is probably more where youre at to make it feasible so thats another 20k mass. A few E storage takes you up another 1-2k. And Im still not counting the scouting of a tele target, or tele-ing in.

      So just to be clear youre complaining that something which takes an air grid of power, in the region of 50K mass, is easily scouted, takes minutes, deprives the enemy of minutes of air production and teleports less DPS than a spider with like 1/5th the HP into your base which deprives the enemy team of a base (or at least a player of APM) is OP?

      If tele gets nerfed, then I'm going to need the spider adjusted to cost about half as much mass because for the DPS/HP, stealth etc its just completely OP.

      Just to clarify. I fixed the memory leak. I was not even aware when I fixed it that there was a bounty on it. Nor have I even accepted the money for it to this day. It made no impact on my decision to fix that bug. I just had time to sort it out when I fixed it.

      I noticed you had fixed it and I saw it on a bug bounty thing. Maybe I saw the wrong thing in the wrong place, pretty sure I saw a paid message somewhere though. Thats why I assumed. Kind of comes full circle back to: fragmentation though.

      I definitely also noticed that my client wouldnt use up literally all the ram anymore, this was back when I was using my KVM setup actually. It made a really nice difference and actually makes the contrast in the "things getting better then" more noticable against the more recent reliability changes in the FAF experience. So props for the good work there, and I hope some people interested in and good at java decide to help you out because it feels like the todo pile is growing to even keep things at parity. Which again comes full circle to the thought that if no one is stepping up for free, maybe they can be baited with a however small contribution to provide some help.

      Has anyone ever considered a change to the TMM algorithm where it doesnt put someone you have foed on your team?

      I know there arent many matches already but really, if Im waiting 30 mins for a match for someone I have foed for throwing multiple games, and then they throw so we can all queue up again for them to repeat the throwing exploit it really sucks.

      Maybe it can prefer to put someone you have foed on the other team and relax the tolerance to avoid having no matches? IDK

      This was pretty long and at least some of it was on topic.

      If username changes are causing a volume problem for mods then sure cut it down from 1 month to 2 or 3 months for most people, but I agree a year is excessive.

      How about leaving it as is (or 2/3 months) for normal people and if people were banned or something, require a year? That way the ability to change names is a perk for not doing shit that gets you banned?

      Should be pretty straightforward to implement since it sounds like all youd need is an extra check in the user name change form for "was user banned in last <x> months?"

      I also read someone suggest that bans/things should require contact with the mod team. I dont know how many bans the mod team dish out (maybe that would lead to a volume problem too?) but I actually like the idea a lot: ban timer starts when the user thats banned get in touch with mod team or something.
