    • RE: Redesign of all HQ and support factories

      Ver. 1 and 2 are clearly an improvement. I can't choose between them, but clearly one of the two as both versions are better than the actual unit. Thanks for the great work.

      As a side note since the DDoS protection measures it is becoming more and more difficult to connect to FAF. My antivirus goes crazy and blocks everything, and now I can't even update the client. It was so easy and simple before...

      Hello FAF client stopped working for me I can't access maps or mod vaults. The log shows some error messages like this ones :
      checkpoint ⇢ 500 INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR from GET https://api.faforever.com/data/mapVersion [DefaultWebClient]

      A few days ago everything was working fine and I didn't touch or changed anything.

      First of all thank you very much for the answer and the info. Much appreciated. 👍 😃
      I didn't thought to look on Google, as I supposed it would be readily available on the wiki in a highlighted spot not lost in the FAQ, specially since it is not in the FAQ tab, but accessible via the "Play" section lost in the "Common questions"here : https://wiki.faforever.com/en/Play/Learning/New-To-FAF. Also some of the info is here : https://wiki.faforever.com/en/Play/Game-Modifications-(Mods)
      And AFAIK some of the QoL changes are not present such as the new shaders.
      Maybe creating a "changes from Steam" tab on the left side menu and gathering all the info in a single place would be a good idea ? Anyways just a suggestion.

    • FAF changes summary

      I was curious to look at a summary of all the main changes FAF brought to vanilla SCFA since the begining (Engies mod, HQ factories, new shaders etc...). I looked through the wiki but could not find it. Does such a summary even exists ?

      Hello Resin, long time no see ! Glad you are still around. Loved your mod back in the day with Domino. Greatly appreciated the inventiveness of 4DC and DMS (holograms, shields, gc unit thrower, phasing, antistun etc...) . Still play with most of it in my homebrew compilation mod. Thank you for years of great gaming and happy to see you back.

      OK I understand. But maybe as an enhancement with adequate costs that would give the Fatboy another wepon option. Otherwise just modify the model and get rid of the napalm turret because just now it looks weird, a weapon turret without any weapon on it.

      Also, fantastic job on the Atlantis and very nice model for the Enforcer.

      @saver Hi, I have been playing with your mods, specially the new fatboy. I was wondering, would it be possible to give him back the napalm launcher weapon on his back ? Maybe as an enhancement ? As the model looks weird with the missile launcher on top and no missile weapon whatsoever. Thanks.

    • Cannot download big mods anymore

      For the last two weeks each time I try to download big mods I get an error: "Connection reset". No problem for maps or small mods though.

      SOLVED. It was a problem of VPN.

      The "new" cybran air support factories just look plain ugly. I won't call cutting part of the original air factories model a "new design". Looks rather like a half-baked piece of work. If you have to replace HQ factories (I personally don't see the need too) make new models, distinguishable and grandiose, they are HQ after all.

      @jip You "prefer moving forward" and it is fine by me. Even if I do like the actual HQ models I'm not opposed to replace them with something better, graphically, gamewise but also visually. The people behind the Engie mod made the effort to create true HQ models visually striking and that you could clearly identify. The changes you are proposing are bland, half-baked and not an improvement visually speaking. They don't bring anything to the game visually on the contrary. HQ should look like HQ, the old ones did, whatever their graphical imperfections, yours don't. Replace the actual HQ models with new true HQ models and keep the original game factory models for the support factories. You are doing a fantastic job on FAF and I do support your work, the direction you have taken FAF and the changes made so far and I thank you for that. This needed to be said.
