Hey guys i dont like these changes

Since the recent update, or at least very recently, the client is requiring vast amounts of power and CPU for some unknown reason. As a result it's causing the game and the UI to lag very bad.

What's going on?

This goes for TMM. It also applies to all 4 of the ladder systems.

The more games you win, the more rating you get, the more rating you get, the higher the probability becomes you will not find a match, the higher the probability of not getting a match becomes, the less games you get to play, the less games you get to play, the less fun you have as a whole.

To conclude, the more you consistently win in the long run, the more detrimental it is to you as a player who wishes to play the game.

If irony was a sentence, that was certainly it.

Maybe the issue is related to the ICE-Adapter high CPU usage bug. In case you or other readers are not following the Discord thread, I will quote the following:

An alpha test client has been released with a rolledback ice-adapter version. the devs would like you guys to try it out, and let us know if the problem does not appear at all with this alpha test version.

This in order to figure out if it is caused by "recent" changes in the ice-adapter or by something else. If it does happen with the alpha test version also then those changes can be ruled out.

Note: you can install this alpha version alongside your normal install, and you can play games with other people running the normal client as well.

I came across this thread in dc yesterday.

Also yesterday I had 2 consecutive client updates, and I'm now using the 2024.5.1 - alpha - 2 version of the client. I will see if I notice any improvements to my situation.

We know fatboys are made of cellotape, cardboard and paper mache, but at least give them some decent HP bonus with attaining veterancy.

A fatboy with no veterancy has 12,500 hp
A fatboy with full 5 star veterancy has 18,500 hp.

Wow..

That seems very underwhelming and weak when you compare the full veterancy attained for any other experimental land unit.

I understand it's based on it's base HP, and given the majority of a fatboy's health comes from it's shield, perhaps apply the veterancy to the shield instead of hp, or a combination of the 2?

More colours = better

Type someone's name, or half of it you're referring to someone in a game, don't rely on their colour

Until this update, I was able to join lobby's and play the game. With this new update to 2025.2.0 I can no longer join lobby's and play the game. Also I can no longer connect in tmm.

For custom lobby's I am stuck on the connecting screen. So whatever the update entailed, has made things worse.

Anyone have the same problem, or know what the problem is?

5x5 maps are vile. Nobody likes them except for a tiny insignificant minority. 99% of 5x5 map games only use a fraction of what the entire game has to offer. It's like asking your friend for a game of chess, but before you start the game, you take every single piece off the board except for the kings, 2 pawns each, and maybe a single knight each. Then you reduce the size of the board to just 12 squares and attempt to have a fun strategic, and interesting game.

There is little support for this as a community. Are you going to implement this rule against the will of the community?

With regard to impersonation too, of all the thousands of players that play this game, who actually cares about this? Even in the most literal cases of players literally impersonating others by merely using their username or something close to it, that is not a big deal.

Players can easily check their username history to see who said player really is.

I am sure there has only been a handful of players that don't like this for whatever reason. By and large, I am confident that most players simply do not care. They are here to play the game.

Sure it may. But this is no different than any other custom hosted game with 10+ players right? Which is probably half of all games anyway.
Not sure I follow an argument for taking away players from 3v3/4v4. You can argue that introducing these formats took away from 1v1 massively, but here they are . I think people would play 5v5 or even 6v6 queues. I think at least half of all games consist of games with 10+ players (gap/custom mapgens). At least it would be an option for people to queue for anyway.

Might I also suggest some fun tmm queues like 2v1, where a higher rated player is matched with 2 lower rated players, or 3v1/3v2/4v2 or something.
