The ReUI Slop department - minigames and other fun stuff
-
Welcome to the official post of the ReUI (AI) Slop department!
Built on top of ReUI (huge thanks to 4z0t for making this possible), this collection brings a bunch of minigames and chaos to FAF. All mods are UI-only unless noted.
Bingo (UI-only, Singleplayer / Multiplayer):
A synched 5x5 Bingo-field is generated (out of currently 84 tasks). When you tick a task, it lights up in your color and others cannot click it aswell. You can go for lines, but the main idea was "whoever has the most, wins". No limit on how many people play. You only need to have the bingo mod.

(Yes the x-button does not work. It was kind of a joke at the time, maybe I will fix it at some point!)
There is no "control" if you actually did the task. It is based on trust and fun.Disclaimer: This mod is not made with AI, it was purely by 4z0t !
Battleship (UI-only, Multiplayer or Singleplayer):
Classic Battleship against another player. Challenge someone with a hotkey, place your ships, and sink theirs. Upon pressing the hotkey, all other players with this UI mod get a popup where they can accept or decline the challenge to play battleship. The window automatically closes and declines after 3 seconds of not pressing anything. If no other player accepted (or noone else in that game has the mod) a game against a Bot is started).

Chess (UI-Only, Multiplayer Only):
Full chess against another player, played inside the game! Play by pressing the hotkey or accepting a challenge. (Currently there are some chess rules regarding check still missing, but the game itself is playable. Resign and Draw button also currently do not work. Fix: soon-ish). Currently there is a 10 seconds turn timer to not make it too boring.

Minesweeper (UI-Only, Singleplayer Only):
Classic Minesweeper with a resizable grid. Configure the size and mine density via ReUI options. First click is always safe. Opened via Hotkey.

Name or Death: (UI only, mostly Singleplayer):
Three minigames in one, all triggered by different hotkeys with your current selected units at stake (that means they will die if you fail):
-
Trivia: answer a question correctly or your units get self destructed (currently about 100 questions in the pool)

-
2 Truths, 1 Lie: Find the LIE between 3 statements, guess wrong and you lose your selection:

-
Higher or Lower: guess whether the right unit costs more or less mass than the left one. Get 4 in a row correct (amount configurable via options) or lose your units

Additional info for Name or Death:
- Trivia can be configured to auto-start every X-minutes via options
- 2 Truthts, 1 Lie currently has about 60 True statements and 40 False
- Required wins in a row for Higher or Lower can be configured via options.
- Some exclusions configurable via ReUI options
- The intended use case of this mod is for twitch. Me and farms for example have the third party software "Mix it up" running on our pc, which is logged in with the twitch account. On redemption of a channel point reward it presses a specific key, which is the hotkey ingame. For more info, pm me.

Disclaimer: Started of with only the trivia purely made by 4z0t. Then expanded with AI to include the other modes.
Additional Info for multiplayer mods:
All of the mods have an entry in ReUI Options to disable receiving requests in case you dont want that or someone spams them.

Example:

This is what a popup looks like when you are challenged to any of the games:

Guess Elo (Sim mod):
And last but not least is the only sim mod in this list (ranked mod!). Hides all player names and shuffles colors at the start of the game. Players are assigned random names from a configurable list (currently about 18 names). Names and true colors can only be revealed as observer when clicking the reveal button. (Not really a ReUI mod, but it kinda fit into this post)
There is a UI-only version in the vault, but it has many limitations. I recommend using the SIM-mod if you are interested in this.

All mods, except Guess Elo SIM, require ReUI. Guess Elo has incompatibilities with mods that affect the chat, such as the emoji mod. If you have a mod that conflicts with Guess Elo, you will not be able to chat.

Welp here goes to a player losing all their units because they guessed the wrong answer. XDD

Its not like you have all your units selected the entire time. Usually you have a fairly low amount of units selected. And because of some... previous events... there is the option to exclude ASF. Exclude means these units cannot die to the mod and will not appear in the "at stake" list
-
Thanks for the definition!
-
@Nuggets Only sissies would exclude ASFs, or any unit really.
-
wtf...
-
"KnownSissie" has returned.
-
The perfect mod for all the scum and villainy has arrived!
Finally.. perfectly legal and profitable gambling has arrived in FAF!
Check out the soon to be uploaded "Casino" SIM mod!
Deposit or withdraw mass at any time!
Don't forget to pay your taxes with withdrawing!

Spin the wheel!

Play the slots!

Profit in roulette!

Play against the house in blackjack!

(Poker was replaced by blackjack because there were just too many problems)And a shop to buy permanent income!
(values are subject to change)

The intended use case of this is to use this fun mechanic in some fun game modes like phantom, wave of death or just random chill games.
-
Update: There are now unit buffs in the shop!

-
Update:
- Name Or Death: Replaced Blackjack with 2 Truths, 1 Lie
- Name or Death: Added a timer to set a "safe" time where the mod cant trigger at the start of the game
- Casino: Damage buff is now for ALL units, not just direct fire
- Casino: Added disguises
- Casino: Added some exploit protection
- Casino: Fixed the multiplayer games. They do work, but can open behind the casino window... will have to fix that.. at some point..
-
Maybe I am missing the point, but why would you want to add (types of) gambling into this game?
-
I thought this was originally intended as an April Fools joke? It was not?
FAF is associated with a USK 12 game, so casino-themed gambling mods may be questionable. The casino mod deserves a discussion regarding whether this type of content should be associated with FAF at all.
-
Regarding why: Why not? Its supposed to be a fun mod where you can spend your mass and buff your units. Can we not talk about what people consider fun and what others don't? I know we already had disagreements there and we are not talking about gambling with money, but mass...
Additionally this is not "real" gambling, but simulated gambling that mimics gambling. Plenty of FSK 12 games have something like this.
Also its a mod, not the game base game... -
What happened to the good old times of MAI in aeolus where half the mods were playing poker for imaginary chatpoints.
Did you know that on faflive during tourney streams lots of people gamble with chatpoints to bet on which player will win the match? Should we disallow that as well?

Thats actually a good point. FAFLive has channel point gambling. AND faf moderators have previously said that things outside faf are relevant in faf (like streaming a private game makes it a public game and thus enforceable to the rules). I guess that means every game on the internet is fsk 18 because it can be streamed on twitch

Btw both terraria and dst (dont starve together) are PEGI 12 games with over 80 million copies sold and both either have gambling in their base game (dst has a slot machine) or in mods.
Also on official minecraft servers there are gambling elements as well.
-
Okay, time to get back to business. What do we do about the chicken? It deals infinite damage, and it's free!
-
Updated the ui mods Chess, Battleship and Minesweeper into a singular mod "Minigames" so its easier for me to potentially add more / update. The "Minigames" mod is compatible with the standalone versions when playing multiplayer.
Additionally I have created a new sim mod called "Game Master" with no dependencies with this panel when a player is in the observer slot:

Quick exaplanation:- Add income: Adds income to a player of your choice
- Remove income: Removes income from a player (can make a player go negative)
- Nuke Strike: Shoots a nuke from off map to the clicked location
- Mavor Strike: Spawns a mavor shell in the air above the clicked location
- Neutral drop: Spawns neutral (civilian) unit of your choice (list with search function)
- Friendly drop: Same as neutral drop, except the spawned unit belongs to a player of your choice
- Enemy drop: Same thing, but hostile civilian
- Reclaim Rain: "Rains" reclaim to either a selected location, random location or everywhere on the map.
- Destroy Unit: Destroy next clicked unit
- Heal unit: Fully heals next clicked unit
- Shrink map: Shrink the map in 10 seconds (an announcement appears) -> like claustrophobia
- Buff player: Giff specific buffs (health / damage / speed / veterancy) to a player of your choice.
- Remove buffs: Fully remove all buffs from a player
- Annouce: Write a message that everyone sees at the top of their screen for a short duration
All of this is possible without cheats as observer. No need to switch into any player PoV!
