... And the problem is? Arguably this should be less stressful, now you can rely on nothing but basic BOs and game knowledge and you and your opp are on an equal footing since you both have no familiarity with the map. Honestly a lot of the mapgen maps are better than a good number of the human made ones anyway.

This is stressful? Maybe yeah, because playing is stressful, but no more so than known maps because your opponent is in the exact same position of figuring the new map out.

Mapgen levels the playing field. If you beat your opponent because you knew the map better then you are not necessarily a good player but a good map learner. A good player can analyse and plan for any map. A not so good player will just learn to do certain things in a certain on certain maps.

I'd say fighting to the death with giant robots and missiles is more stressful when done in an unknown environment rather than one you are familiar with.
