Double Elimination
Double Elimination is a tournament format in which the players will start off in the winner's bracket, playing just 1 game. The winning player advances to the next round, the losing player drops into the loser's bracket. If the player loses again, they are eliminated from the tournament. Completely winning the loser's bracket brings you back into the finals of the winner's bracket for a chance at redemption. The player coming from the winner's bracket has to win only 1 BO3. Should the player from the loser's bracket win the BO3, a second BO3 is played. The winner of this round is the winner of the tournament.

Round Robin
Round Robin is a tournament format in which each player will fight every other player once. Every win is rewarded with a point. A tie will reward both players with 1/2 point. The two players with the most points will face off in the best of 3 finals round. In case of a tie in point count, players will have to play against players they are tied with. The winner will proceed to the finals.
Player size of this tournament will likely be limited to 6 to prevent tournament from taking too long.

It is very important that you join the IRC channel (UNDER CONSTRUCTION ((YOUR IRC HERE)). Instructions on how to do so can be found below. This will make it easier for the Tournament Director to oversee the players, the status of their games, and to make sure the lobbies are hosted with the correct map and settings.
Everyone's presence in the IRC channel will help ensure a smooth tournament.

i) On the FAF client, navigate to the Chat Tab, then click on the "+" symbol.
ii) Under the "Join a channel" label, type in "#U1100" (Without quotations).
iii) Congratulations, you've successfully joined the U1100 IRC channel.
This depends on the number of participants and your individual progress. The full tournament can last between 3-4 hours, assuming there is no delay.

@Skrat said in ladder 2k+ scene:
Hello everyone For many, many years now, the 2k ladder scene has been practically dead. Everyone I asked gives one reason - there are few opponents. You have to make arrangements in advance to play, and it's not that interesting.
But many 2k players still want to play! Not all of them have retired yet, like the legendary Zock or Petric.
And players with lower ratings want to see more 2k level replays to learn!
Tournaments with cash prizes are good, but they require you to play for many hours and give you a lot of restrictions.
My suggestion. Once every 2 weeks, I will do a survey in Google forms, in which 2k players will choose convenient dates and times for their games.
And then I will publish dates and times comfortable for everyone. I will not specify the nicknames of the players, only the number of those who want to play on a particular day/time.
Please write if you would be interested in such events. No prizes, no rules, just the desire to press the 1x1 button and play the best RTS!
I did try to make the ladder discord to get a few people queueing at all ranks, and with tournaments like the uX series, hopefully a few more people get into ladder. Maybe a biweekly weekend can be chosen for a bunch of people to queue ladder.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I was considering joining Discord in the hopes of running a 2v2 or even a 1v1 with some coaching, so I can get into the headspace quicker. Is this something I could find there?
The training team would love to help you, as would the dojo! Find both links on the wiki

@bofhlusr said in I tried. Problem. How do I join the FAF Discord??:
Hi @strydxr, I don't understand. Yes, I know the link DOES expire. I used it quickly but I still keep getting the same error message.
Also, your statement about banning this guy, might that be in reference to me?? If it's in reference to me, I don't understand. Why would you like me banned? I haven't done or said anything wrong. Kindly clarify. Thank you.
Edit;
For what it's worth: I'm a member in good standing at the Sanctuary and The LOUD Project channels too. I've given no one a reason to complain. In fact, I've made donations so they know my real name. And, I just checked my account at Discord:
I'm unsure how this error forms, I can look into this quickly.
it's a general joke made by a few friends of mine, it appears under all of my posts, so no, it's not about you.

the tournament will be postponed to february 1
Could the post please be changed to reflect this fact, I didn't even realise until I scrolled down and read this lmao
A feature I'd like to see implemented is a review of teams and their contributions on a yearly basis, whether this is done by association members (members apart of the team are exempt), or by another verifiable metric, I think it'd be a great precedent to see how teams evolve in highs and lows within the FAF project.
Hey everyone, I hope you've had a great new year thusfar! We have some exciting news for you all!
The uX series will be undergoing some changes to ensure we bring a fresh year of tournament excitement to you all, with some changes being the following:
We will shift to a MONTHLY schedule now, taking us from 26 tournaments a year to 12, therefore u1100 will be the uX tournament next month!
We will be including a cash prize of $30 to first place!
We will be imposing a 5 game ladder requirement to tournaments going forward! You must queue and play 5 LADDER games to completion to compete in the current tournament you are eligible to partake in. For example: u1900 contenders must play at least 5 LADDER games before the next u1900 (or u1500 if they can and wish to compete in that) in order to compete
With these changes, it brings me great joy to announce u1100 Tournament VIII on February 3rd, and the Tournament Team schedule will be edited to showcase this. Hope to see you there commanders!

I messaged Strydxr 11 days ago and haven't heard back. Is this still active?
Hi SupaCup, we have closed testing for now to allow Speed to work on GW for peace. To quote what he has said in GW-Announcements
"@Galactic War Contributor Im shutting down the server until further notice!
Thanks everyone who's tested and reported bugs so far. No more testing for the rest of the year!
I have gathered a lot of feedback to know what are the important features and fixes to work on. Even if I havent replied to you, I have read all the messages and suggestions in the GW channels. "
Your message request isn't going anywhere, and you'll be added to the testing pool when tests resume
Lets talk about communication:
I made the discord thread specifically for the team captains on purpose. Referring back to your comment nuggets, the amount of pings that i was receiving was insufferable and caused me to lose track of things, cause there were other players with actual issues. So I relied on the team captains to give me viable information regarding the tourney. Of course this was not happening, another thing to try to fix.
This! ^ It is often a struggle as a TD to get adequate communication that isn't excessive trolling or just being blanked until you're having to force a response. It's very strange to see many players simply not communicate with the TD beyond below the bare minimum and then get upset when the TD isn't happy with their late response. This also applies to the rules not being read often, even in our most recent qualifier here, which is something i think should be looked into on both sides going into 2026
Sorry for the slightly off topic response, but it's something that bugs me when I have to TD for mid-high rated tournaments, since I thought people who have been doing this for years would have some normalcy in how they carry themselves to a standard with TD interactions
How do we feel about a post Christmas timeline for this tournament? Like 28th - 10th Jan kinda thing
