Game crashed within 30 secs of starting for no apparent reason.

Have had more success since changing audio config to stereo only, i.e. no spatial sound enhancements, but also found my switch was faulty, which doesn't help so binned that and got a new switch.
Apparently sound config can cause issues. Needs to be stereo only, so turn off any sound enhancements, e.g. spatial sound in your operating system audio config
It'd be good if there was a button in the lobby that could do a mini load test and try to see in advance if there was going to be lag. no idea if this is feasible or not.
Have turned off "audio enhancements" and "spatial sound". Haven't played a game yet with these settings off, but will make sure they're off from now on, and report back any crashes.
RE: XACT3DApply ... my sound card only does 16 bit or 24 bt at 48K Hz. No 44100Hz option. It does have an Audio Enhancements setting that I can turn off when playing FAF to see if that helps. The thing is, this crash only happens once every 20 or so games, or less, which is wierd.
game_21451635.log game_21456770.log
2 crash files.
i have a new windows 11 laptop, latest FAF patch.
Who can I send crash logs to?
Game just randomly crashing twice now. Quite flaky.
Suggest the dev team learn about try/catch blocks -- not aware of any other apps that just blow up the way FAF does.
Also, can the FAF client or game be modified to automatically send the logs in, so that you get a more reliable stream of log files, which I assume will help you troubleshoot the problem?
Perhaps some try/catch blocks that then fail over into some UI that lets you press submit to send in a log file?
sorry, missed this response. file no longer there. will upload next time.
would be good if when the crash screen comes up you could press a button to post the log file to the dev team
So, probably 2-3 times now in the past week or so the FAF client has just completely crashed and shut down.
when I look at the log files it seems to be some network error / connection dropped.
Hopefully the netcode is somewhat isolated to a few key areas of the app, and so I was thinking it'd probably be useful if the dev team could wrap this with some exception handling code to catch the error and perhaps post it to the dev team, so that we can see what the crash is.
It'd be great if this then could be a step towards auto-reconnect.
I think right now we need some intel on why all the flakiness?
Happy to be wrong. Do we know what the main cause(s) of flakiness is?
@heavenly I had the same issue. I set the Coturn to Germany 1 in Settings > FAF > Preferred Coturns for ICE and could connect better. I also had Force Relay Connection OFF.
v.10 of the FAF client seems like a step back. Had many game crashes + FAF client crashes. Gonna have to wait to see if v.11 any better. v.10 unplayable for me.
Also, aside from the game crashing (above), the FAF client crashed. Not sure if that happened first and that someone causes the game to crash??? Anyway. this appears to be the log for the FAF client crashing. Crashes seem quite bad in v0.10.
How does one get involved in improving FAF. I'm a developer, did 3000 years of Java back in the way and happy to contribute another pair of eyes on this.

Is there a simpler answer than a 57-page word doc?
Seems like you're saying that even though no information is collected to assess player performance, players are given different mu adjustments.
@eternal Thanks for the info. I get that. I'm now interested in understanding how mu is adjusted. i.e. same for all players on winning team, or different?
