# Rainbow Cup V ~ 3v3 ~ $1.2K ~ <1,800

I'd like to sign up - I'm 1800+ one week, then 1800- the next.

*A work of art is never finished, merely abandoned*

@edtjuh

Hi edtjuh,

Sorry to inform you that this is an <1,800* rating tournament with

some minor exceptions, described below,

and you have (2) > 1,800 ratings - (Glb =1,900 and 2v2 =1,880)

*If.....

You only had the 38 game 2v2 rating of 1,880 rating, AND

you next highest >100 game history rating was "say 1720 global rating"..

We would be able to combine weigh the 2 ratings to get a sub 1800 rating,

and be able to register.

Hope to see you in the Rainbow Cup VI Open Rating tourny in February.

**New Tournament Rating Calculating method**

to determine ratings of **players with 1 rating above 1800**, where

there is a "small" sample size and

Where the players next highest rating has a greater than 100 game history.

The next highest rating - will "weigh" that rating with a 100 game weight.

That Rating will be combined in proportion with the >1800 small sample rating as

described below:

Example:

Use this formula, to find a Tournament Rating:

(>1800 rating x small sample game total) + (Lower rating x 100 game weight) = (Multiplied ratings / combined game total) = New rating.

Example of the One time this rule has been used "so far" in this tournament:

Exselsior's new RC tournament rating will be

(Glb) 1714 x 100 games + (4v4) 1874 x 26 games = 220384/126 = 1749 Combined adjusted rating

.

Remember >1,800 players....

There is going to be another open Rainbow Cup at end of February where

historically everyone above 1,800 has

been picked to play in the 12 team, 3 man teams.

Hope to see you soon in the next Open!

Remember the idea is to have as many players be able to participate in this 'fun' tourney as possible.

One small sample size +1,800 rating should not disqualify a person.

Lets have fun and also HELP out the AI Mod Developers.

If you play versus AI from time to time....

now is the chance to help give back a little to the AI teams... by just participating

Thanks

@rowanmorseyt

Hi Rowan,

This tourney is for under 1,800* rated players.

The previous RC's were all Open rated.

Good news though is that the Next Rainbow Cup - RCVI - 3v3 on Feb 25th,

Will once again be an Open rating tourny.

Remember........

Registration is fluid until the last day of registration on Sept 11th.

As the Singles registration draft pool fills up...

Singles may recruit each other and make up 2 person teams, Or

remain as singles until registration ends on 9/11,

to be drafted on to the already registered 2 player teams starting on 9/12.

Draft starts from the 12th seeded team, and

proceeds on upward to 1st seeded team.

Players who register as a team, may also submit a "team name" to

be used in the FAF Live casts, and in

the FAF Forged Alliance Forever YouTube channel video upload thumbnails here:

https://www.youtube.com/c/ForgedAllianceForever/playlists?view=50&shelf_id=5

Don't be shy... Sign up below now (registration open till Sept 11th)

Only 4 teams of 2 signed up so far with avg combined rating of 3300.

and

Only 9 singles for the draft with ratings bet 1100 and 1700.

We are looking for 36 players to participate,

to make up the 12 teams we need to fill the brackets.

Still looking for 8 more teams of 2 and

some more singles.

If you have weekend of Sept 24/25 free....

ask a friend to play, and

get a very good - Three in Twelve chance to

take home some sweet $$$ winnings and a cool avatar.

@deli

Hi Deli,

**To be a captain**... you have to sign up with another player as a 2 person team.

Players that sign up as Doubles and

are the higher rated player of the 2 person team is considered the captain.

The 12 teams will draft "pick" :

from the Singles pool to make up their 3rd team member.

If you **sign up as a single**:

- you have to wait until after the registration is over,

and the draft begins,

to see which team draft's you onto their team.

**12 single players** will be drafted to play on the 12 Teams.

Lowest rated team drafting first.

Then the next 11 teams will make a draft pick,

up sequentially to the highest rated team with the last draft pick.

**But, remember**...

YOU can *always* join with a friend at any time,

and then be a captain of one of the 12 teams,

You can also ask any of the other singles in the draft pool now, to join you.

The players in the **single's** pool **are "free agents"** and can join with

anyone, at any time, if they so choose, or

they can remain in the singles pool and wait for the draft.

Check Post #4 above to see the current

teams and singles.
