Why does faf chat constantly disconnect?

Firstly no I won't post logs.
Secondly, everyone I speak to has the same thing. FAF chat constantly gets disconnected, at least several times per hour?
Why?

I experience this as much as you say and it even has adverse affects of not being about to ping a player in a lobby who hasn't x because their chat is disconnected. I also experience disconnects from FAF while the client is open or when I am in a long lobby sim every hour give or take. It causes me to have to refaf mid lobby for no reason. Never get disconnects that effect me once a game is started though which is nice.

Same, a very widespread problem. Faf doesn’t disconnect but faf chat does

Hi! I am sorry you are facing these issues. Would you please provide the client logs so the developers can look into it.

I thought this was a well known issue for which the cause was something related to the ddos stuff?

If anyone likes to help out: the latest alpha client should add auto reconnect to chat back. See alpha client announcement in Discord.

The issue seems to be more severe now with this new client update.
5 seconds after opening up the client, the chat disconnects lol

Unfortunately, the current testing phase comes at a bad time due to occasional DDoS attacks. I guess we have to wait until the situation improves, to have a better testing environment. Still, thanks for trying, tho!

In limited use I have noticed client 2025.2.0-alpha-1 seems to keep chat connected.
