413 Payload Too Large from POST https://api.faforever.com/mods/upload

We are actively working on balancing and correcting the errors of our mod, so please delete the archived versions of our mod. Please do not store them on the server, leave only the current version
-
We can't only keep the latest version - it would break all replays that use* a previous version.
If you want to test your mod with a select couple of people it is better to share the mod manually instead of uploading gigabytes worth of data to the server.
-
Can we come back to this? They can't solve the problem.
We need a clearer understanding of what the problem exactly is.
And what can be done.
and if they need to decrease the file size then how much it needs to be decreased?
They have tried 307MB (before compression). that is ~50% mod size decrease and it does not let them upload the file.
also tested 100MB (before compression) and it lets them upload the mod, but they can't decrease mod size this much.
When talking about file size limits pls mention if it is before or after compression pls. -

This is important to myself and others who VERY MUCH enjoy watching older replays.

If it is a unit mod then you can split them over several, smaller mods. You would need to enable them all manually of course, but it would be the easiest approach.

Yes, it is a unit mod.
Okay that is one possible solution...
But splitting to like 6 smaller mods is pretty annoyingIdeal would be to fix something on the server, we just don't understand how is that possible that we were able to upload 600mb mod before and now we can't, while file size limit did not get changed for 4 years, and halving the mod size does not help
-
It would be helpful if the author could upload the current folder zipped to a Google drive or somewhere.
-
The best solution will be splitting mod assets and code, so code can be changed frequently without involving reupload or assets

https://disk.yandex.ru/d/7krrkoNgsaG-5w updated mod that they could not upload. Size did not increase compared to previous version.
https://disk.yandex.ru/d/UbzdKvyZCFm2Ig same mod but split into two parts and also failed to upload -
any ideas why ~330 mb one is failing to upload? (is it gettnig bigger after it gets uploaded? :D)
-
I can reproduce the error on the test server with the upload. But so far I can not see the cause of it.

How much value is placed on modded replays?
I see many many standard rated games that have desynced replays and it doesnt create much of an issue, from what I see.
If a creator wants the previous versions removed, and it saves a lot of space on the server, I dont see a huge reason not to.

I have some very bad news. As it turns out Cloudflare is limiting uploads to 100mb in our Pro plan. Even upgrading to Business plan would slighlty increase it to 200mb. Only enterprise customers can have 500mb uploads or more.
Unfortunately we have to hide our servers behind Cloudflare Proxies due to the DDoS issues. So for now, we cannot offer any solution to the problem. Sorry.

Is it possible to let the client indicate the number of parts of the mod archive to the server, if he, for example, splits the original archive into X parts, adjusted for size?
-
No. There are alternate options, but we have to develop them first.
