Novax bug in new patch
-
Let's start the convo about SMDs being able to shoot down novaxes again.
-
Yes please. My reasons are:
Novax spam is too prevalent because they are cheaper than T3 arty, thus less of an investment. Also global range can make them hard to destroy because they are far away and usually better protected than T3 arty - more space for shields as they don't need 4 T3 pgens adjacency. -
This isn't the place to complain about Novax balance, it's a bug report thread.
Make your own balance thread if you'd like, but don't complain here.

@deribus bad mod turned on

Novax works fine in: https://replay.faforever.com/17109571
@Lenkin does it still happen?
-
no @Jip

What has always been an issue for novaxes is that u cant groundfire them. Well you can, but the lazer stops shooting once you retarget rendering the groundfire useless 99% of the time. Its kinda like old novax, but just for groundfire
-
@Jip it happens again #17249089 novax killes 1 target and stop atack.
-
And a lot of times it just works as usual. We didn't touch the Novax, as far as I am aware it has always been like this.
-
@Jip and again. It happens every time. Its broken, i play a lot with Novaxes before and now its usless p of s
-
@Lenkin as you were told Novax works correctly. The only reason it works for YOU wrong is groundfiring. May be due to RUI mod.
-
@Ctrl-K i knew about novax all, and i never use ground fire. It just broken!
-
I have been testing it in sandbox, it works fine.
-
@Ctrl-K Nice! It broken for me every game!

do you suppose this may be due to novax not rechecking for new target before the beam stops (if target checking change is already live), I know it is (was) very sensitive to that and stops the beam early if it doesn't have any other enemy unit in range to shoot at, not checking for new targets fast enough automatically may cause the same effec
t, I'm not saying it is the cause, it was just first thing I can see could be
