Hereby we challenge you to a Clan War!
July 4-5, time and details of your choice, feel free to dm us.

The rules are clear and simple.

You and us pick 5 clan members, no rating caps. We play 5 games in a best of 5.
1st game is 5x5 on Selkie Isle.
After the first game is played, the lowest "global score" player from each team is eliminated.
2nd game is 4x4 and it is played on the map that is picked by team, who lost the previous match.
3rd game is 3x3
2nd game is 2x2 and etc.

So each team prepares a map for 4x4, 3x3, 2x2 and 1x1.
No any maps restrictions.
No race vetos.
All fun is allowed.

The winner of CW gets RESPECT till the next macth.
If another clan will challenge and win them, Respect for the winners is LOST (no Respect)!

We hear the voices of yap-yap yappers and waa-waa-waawers louder and louder recently..
They've violated the FAF Forum contract of due RESPECT after losing their last match.

Looks like it's been a long time since the last clan match took place, and the community needs again us, the slavic bullies to show those elitistic nerds their right place (maybe).

HEREBY WE CHALLENGE DP CLAN FOR THE NEXT ROUND OF A CLAN WAR!

You know the rules - no strict rules except having fun in a BO5 teamfight games of 5v5.
The first map is adaptive millennium (relcaim x2) with specific slots.
The loser of first round picks second map, and so on till the end of the match.

1. As Stormlantern said, it is a kind of nerd game and we got used to see our sweet green +15 or red -15 rating numbers near our names. You can call it a subjective factor, but for me it is much more interesting than only League icon and Victory / Defeat display.
2. By amount of addded rating / lost rating you can estimate team balance. I'm not sure how it works, but as far as I noticed, if you win in a team with lower rating, you get more points. So just for checking +/- ratio you may know, if there was some drama 50+ game. Also if you win stronger opponnent (you still see those raiting numbers in the game itself, you do not see Leages), you want to know, how many points you won (and sometimes how many points they lost, he he). It is fun moment, we love fun moments in FAF and I hope it will be respected enough.
3. As Sladow said, it is much more easier to track someone's progress in a short period of time. Especially in ladder. Like some month ago Person X was 1600 rating, right now he is 1800. Estimation difference between clearly understandable numbers (1600 one month ago and 1800 now ) is much more obvious for cognitive perception than difference between League icons.
4. I do not see rating manipulation as a real problem, besides all factors each player can estimate another player by his own way. And even someone gets high rating fast by manipulation, in next 1-2 games he will be easily revealed and will not harm high rated lobbies quality, because host and community can share their opinion in lobby before start and prevent it.
5. I do not know if initiator and decision making person of this change plays ladder, but as a current +/- active player I would state, that personally me and everyone with whom I spoke, who play and have interest in some competition there, we are a bit disapointed with this change. Therefore I ask to return it back.

Such a long waiting for the sweet Revenge was not in vain.. having underestimated their opponents, the arrogant ones were punished!
In the wide seas and dark plains from different maps, the enemy commanders of dp Clan were dying and losing battles after battles, having managed to win only once on the Seton's Clutch.. again..
And with the final score of 3-1, Yow Clan was victorious over dp Clan !

In a fierce battles and changed format - all games 5v5 - agreed with both parties, we finished it with the score 1-3 in favour of [dp] Clan!
Suddenly 2600-rated Terarii showed up and after the second game with the score 1-1, our main "Dude with a club" Lunyshko was feeling bad to continue (So unlucky!)
With replacements it was hard to encounter with so high rated dp clan members, and we were eventually outplayed..
Unfortunately, in the end some connection issues made it hard to prolong the match to bo7.

I hope next time TD will think about managing substitudes in advance.
Allowing teams to pick stronger players during the tourney makes the draft proccess irrelevant and playing unfair. 2200 player is changed for 2600 one, or Pants changed for 2-times Setons King winner - Protect.
There are many respected tourneys where many players are involved from which the subs system can be taken, like RainbowCup.
Disapointing experience and some FAF money will be used in unfair way.

I'd say those changes looks clear and fair, and they were needed in terms of recent tourneys perfomances. Thanks, hyb!
Regarding 1st LOTs quals, it turned out that a lot of "Star" players singed up, and I can understand FTX's takes, that for the "Stars" being a "Winner of quals" and getting quals winner Ava or Faction Face/Logo avatars can not be a good motivation to play, when they already got qualified. LIke Yudi was already a winner of Lots and Farms already has like 10 cool uniqe avas.
If some fresh blood players would have gone further, their motivation of just being a winner in the tourney among many eminent players will be for sure enough, but.. unlucky!

As an idea of motivation to play further games after 4 players were already qualified (apart from 50 bucks), there can be a direct invites to the next LOTS (like top 2 players from quals get it).
There also can be rewards for a winner of Quals in the Play Off Stage of LOTS, like being able to ban 2 fractions to enemy or he has immune pick to his fraction during Swiss stage. And he can chose always his starting position. And many others "small pleasant advantages". There can be plenty of interesting motivating advantages apart from money that can be implemented and fun, for example, no one can stop Farms from being UEF REPRESENTATIVE in the Play Offs.

Hello there,

It is a common thing that sometimes you have to wait for a while for lobby to fill in. And even when it fully fills, you have to wait for people to press the Elon Mask twitter button, it may also take up to 5 to10 mins for some respected individuals. People who play faf are usually highly productive and want to use this waiting time in alt+tab mode for example watching documental videos and can eventually miss the game has been started, which will ruin the game and cause another "re" circle.

Also you can not fully enjoy this waiting time because you are panicing to miss the game has been started and you need to alt+tab back every minute to check if the game has not been started.

Is it possible to make a sound of game has been launched (like in TMM?) or return the fuction when the game pops up upon all other windows. I remind we had it not so long time ago.
Or maybe another usefull suggestion?

I see this Nuggets guy has a lot of free time..

It is very sad for me that we will lose all legacy of maps like Daroza / The Ditch / Bermuda / Pyramid etc. with that change, and all casts / replays of tourneys will be not as much usefull or enjoable for learning yourself.
Also about team maps like Setons, where BOs are some part of a history. But it will affect only mid and partially rock BO, so not a big deal maybe. But still after change the game review will be different. "Setons whores" will understand me
I enjoyed spending hours on learning things with currenct gameplay with its dynamic and ideas of reclaim speed.

I accept and understand that on the other hand it opens new gate where new rules will have new effect on competition level. Same as Excelsior and Paradox_of_War, I do not think that change will solve the problems we're trying to solve. And for those who understands and applies it first in a more efficient way, it will be a good advantage.

I like all Jips references to WC3, and as former ladder WC player I can say that there were never changes like gold or lumber mining speed. Yes, units can be balanced, but in general economics and start buildings were always the same for so many years.

It is just my opinion and point of view and I would be happy if I'm mistaken and it such changes (if implemented) will lead us in the end to a better future.
