they also make,- we call them mines now- a more valuable target( like jip explained), even more in a highly dense mine cluster, also destroying storage will remove all the mass in it i think, which can be pretty crucial when you want to pump a t4 trough. its also part of the game tactics, bcs your base gets more complex and you have more to loose. the potential complexity of your main and side bases matter, bcs you need to think about your resource allocation and how much you may invest into defending it. they diversify your mass infrastructure and bring tactical depth to the game. the auto ring for the t2 upgrade is already pretty convenient.

every hover unit spam is melting even vs frigates, they can supplement your navy rush if you got momentum but substituting navy with hover is an idea everybondy of us had once and it didnt worked out. Hover maa can only substitute cruiser till there is a real torp spam and there is no point in spamming t2 hover units when the enemy got destroyers. i think you can bring a match fast to an end if you create navy momentum and spam out t2 hovers before the enemy got 2 destroyer, i guess...

on most smaller maps real game enders come rarely into play. back in the days on lan when we where 14 we always played huge battles without t4 arties and nukes. this resulted in never ending matches where nobody could beat the others. and for their role in general i think its the scaling of the whole game, its just something i love abouth sup com, that you can scale and their is always something bigger to look for. for my mediocore-sometimes-try-hard-most-times-fool-around 1300 rating feeling they fit very well atm in the game. they are a clear approach towards ending a match, but you can defend them, but only if you are halfway on par with eco. and i like longer matches, as long both sides keep fighting for the win.

some peopel just want to enjoy the game without communicating so much. if you want to play higher ranked you need to play harder, this applies to every rank up to 1800+ which is maybe the rank where it boils down to style and day performance. what do you want as 800? being all the time the top ranked palyer and everybody plays worse than you? or being lower ranked and everybody owns you? in good balanced matches your teammates and you can defend nasty strategies of your enemies

if you only got time for 1 or 2 matches in the evening after work gap is fast and easy. you usally dont need to wait too long till the lobby fills and you can get a little gud on the map bcs you train the same bo's over and over again. i played so much gap just bcs the lobby is 9/12 and you know k, cool, i can play 2 matches maybe this evening and dont have to wait 30 min in lobby just the host time outs or somebody lags or somebody alt f4 bcs he dont likes his spawn.
never the less id wish other maps would be played more often, and as mentioned matchmaker queue could be a better choice (for me as well). but then again it has something to it, using those highly specific bo's and see who performs it better or see someone having sucess by breaking the meta.

after the update it was as good as before the ddos attacks, which is ok, but not that good:P
BUT
after i turned on this cotourn server thing it got a lot better! maybe 1 out of 5 - 7 matches need to be re'ed, which is a huge improvement!So thx for working on our most favourite rts:)

dont understand, host lobby host rules host right to break rules. some want opti gap, some want fixed spawn gap, some want 1500+ gap, some want all welcome gap and then still kick you bcs their friend joined. yes its annoying that games take time to start, but introducing more queues would just makes sense if you can bring 100k new players maybe. and punishing hosts for hosting lobbies doesnt sound right.
maybe introduce auto lobbies with a strict set of rules, a voting system and an obs waiting queue, the lobby stays alive after game starts and after you died you decide if you keep your spawn for next match or leave. -

Really, a mediocore Coustomrating means not that much. only Increasing the Sample Size by playing more games makes it more reliable, bcs your overall performance and influence on the matches become more clear after lets say 1000 matches. You wont get away with playing bad and hoping you are in the winners team by random in the long run. Also killing an enemy high rated player by sacrificing your com may be a dick move but is a legitimate strategy in a team game i think.

Perma Ban for chokeholding a complete community out of personal reasons: yes! sounds like he sucessfully blackmailed you now. and that it is possible to tackle faf like this doesnt throw a god light on it, altough i know all the people putting so much effort in this project cant do anything about this and its not their fault. but it gives me the same vibe like downloading kOrn_c00l_RMX_mp.3.exe from limewire.
is he the same guy causing trouble for months and hijacking lobbies? if then why unban him? bcs he will continue to ruin our fun? -

but they still buy you time, even though if they get crushed early they took the damage till they collapse and helping your units to move forward. making a t2 mobile shield first often is a life insurance for your front commander. in masses you can protect your fatty, sera shield is good to protect sniper bots and aeon hover shields are a nice addition to their other t2 hover units, so you can get away with destroyer only spam on navy(in certain situations). and they are not countered by t1 arty if your shielded units outrange it:) thats at least how i use them, could be completly wrong bcs im one of the joest joes

its about stability not sheer net speed or bandwith. but atm the con seems to have genreal issues, connections between players fail and its neither ones fault, just seach the forum for different threads about this topic. but as far as i know you can play lagfree with a 300 ms ping as long you dont have packet loss. its this way because the game checks every tick every players actions, its not like in fps games where the game just assume that when you have packet loss that you might be just keeping on pressing the w key. being on cable solves many con problems becaus you garantuee a stable connection in your houshold at least.

i dont understand the apporach why a game should be balanced around the capabilities of mediocore players. you are always free to make 1k max lobbies or what ever (sry i dont want to assume anybodys rating or ingame capabilities:P). but why it should be balanced for people who doesnt even understand how to play flowing economy, or who are just playing inefficient and spamming t2 pds by default around mexes and not even reclaiming or that are on their endless eco scale trip (dont forget to build 100 e storage like a pro). to many matches lasts too long because nobody uses hard fighted advantages and instead going for "35 min t4 rush". you are always free to play like this but you cant complain about that you cant keep up like this.

just my opinion as a casual 1300 in coustom who is underperfoming in air all the time
stealth on asf is indeed a nice gimmick but in the end it boils down to who got more asf and makes better micro i think. Also regulary scouting is mandatory all the time. but i understand your feelings about this.
in the beginning i always thought, why i should pick anything else than cybran? hives, stealth, telemazer, corsair, mantis, etc..., remembers me of those noob gaps where everybody picks cybran. but honestly after 2 k matches i had my "omg this is op" phase with every faction and still got the feeling i really dont know that much about how to exploit which faction strength when and where. and this is why im happy that pro players with years of xp and multiple k of matches making the balance.
