The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!

Why am I unable to view local replays from a few years ago?

They simply won't load - is it due to the version changes in FaF? Is there a way around it?

        What is the replay ID?
What error message are you getting?

@c0rtex Yes it's very frustrating, especially as someone that returned after long break

The unofficial python client often does not have this issue, so I would definitely try that.

I tend to use it for watching pretty much any replay now, as for some reason the client often doesn't seem to be able to load a lot of new replays too.

Try disabling UI mods. FAF has some engine patches for functions that are used by UI mods but unavailable in older versions of the game. Rings For All comes to mind as an example.
