      Have you tried a VPN?
      no

      Well, can you test it?

I know these questions (from magge) have to be asked, but essentially it comes down to "have you tried it with vpn / a different location".
The rest is, from my experience almost never really relevant

Also, i played some games yesterday. Like 8 setons, of which like 1 worked and i was about to throw faf into the trash. But then i joined some mapgens with (mostly) different people (and also 7v7) and had no problems at all.
For some reason i couldnt really see who was at fault in those setons, but it clearly was someone in there. Essentially what im getting to.. its not necessarily you, but maybe one or two of the people you play with, without you directly seeing it from thr connectivity screen ingame

Yeah, I feel the same way, because on my side everything was always actually fine. But people keep saying I’m lagging, and not just once but several times now. And I can also see on the connection screen that I’m spiking, because everyone except me is listed with like -1 or something.

              https://protonvpn.com/

              xxx

Are there other users on your internet connection?

Streaming services such as Twitch or YouTube can cause lag due to the bandwidth peaks they generate.
TV channels via IPTV can also cause this.

The best thing to do is to turn off Wi-Fi (WLAN) and disconnect everything from the router except the computer you want to use to play FAF.

If there is no lag then, it is due to a device consuming bandwidth.

At least, I had this problem and was able to solve it with a network switch and fixed bandwidth limitation.

These recommendations with "disconnect everything", "is there someone else using your connection" are from 10 years ago.

I guess it is time to build in VPN, which will redirect only faf traffic

@HOSCHMOSCH How was the test run? If you need someone to test it, then we can host an unranked test game and see how it goes.

I am testing it right now by joining gap games with diffrent vpn server locations.

At the moment, things are going well. But it’s not easy to say, because even when I turn off the VPN, it’s also running fine. Many games have crashed, but not because of me. I rather get the impression that there are certain players I have issues with. I don’t know why… maybe because they use a relay. It’s all not that simple to make sence out of it.

Hard to say from just this image, but a short connection drop is possible. You were still connected to some users, so it is not all your fault. (edit: unless ice adapter where still in process to reconnect you to the users again - you can monitor the ICE adapter debugger to see what was going on)

To narrow it down, you will have to monitor your network for interruptions, packet loss and timeouts. E.g. running WinMTR while the issue happens, and looking at places like Windows event viewer for anything unusual.
