I was just watching a replay of a game where I got my butt handed to me. It wouldn't have made a difference tbh but I noticed my t1 radar seemingly could not see some of my opponents units. Pic shows should what I mean - am i wrong? Some of his units look to be within my radar vision radius. It's early game so there's no t2 units/stealth that could affect things.

        There's two things in play:

        • Intel updates at a slower rate
        • Intel radius circles are not 100% accurate to actual intel range.

They'd likely show up a second later, in large chunks instead of individual units at a time.

Thanks Jip, i suspected the fact the units were on the outer edge of the ring meant something like that 🙂

How expensive would it actually be to update intel more frequently

This happens with vision as well. most noticeably with the blaze, with its tiny vision radius and high speed. if it's going flat out it will almost run into an oncoming unit before it sees it.

99% it's determined by the engine and I would guess it would be quite hard to change. But it's worth looking into for sure.

I think I've asked KionX this at some point and if I recall correct the answer was that it isn't trivial to do.
