LOTS Points, 2025 Onwards

Just before I announce the dates for the next invitational, I would like to announce to you all how the LOTS Points will work for the upcoming years.

Each year we will aim to have up to 4 Invitationals (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall), it might not be the case every year, but that is the goal. It will be the only tournaments where LOTS Points will be awarded.

The goal of LOTS Points, as it always has been, is to reward players who consistently compete at the highest level all year round. One of the many reasons for this is that players might not be active all year round and decide to only play LOTS, which then makes the qualifiers incredibly stacked and difficult to qualify through, which sometimes sees us miss out on worthy players not qualifying. With the Invitationals it gives the players a chance to avoid playing the qualifiers and head straight to the Prelim Stage.

I have made a Google Spreadsheet where you can find all the players who have points, for which tournament, and how many points. Which you can find here.

However there are some points I would like to explain on the forums. The way the points work is that the Invitationals will give up to 25 points. Those placements are:
1st - 25
2nd - 20
3rd - 15
4th - 10
5th-8th - 5

And LOTS will be double that the Invitationals give out, which is:
1st - 50
2nd - 40
3rd - 30
4th - 20
5th-8th - 10

The points will be taken from the most previous LOTS and onwards.

The LOTS Points will last 2 calendar years, with the points after the first calendar year being decreased by 40%. After 2 years of use, the points will be voided. So that way we will always be using the past 2 years of placements.

There may be some changes that could happen if we deem them necessary but for now, this will be it. I hope to see many of you at the Summer Invitational!
