Recall is just a lame function that has ended some games way earlier than the game was actually lost. Maybe there should be a lobby option to disable recall

I think this seton tourney wasnt supposed to be high level anyways, its something mediocre, unlike the king one. Although the last king one was also not full 2k+ tbf.

Players just dont want to sign up and spend 10 hours a day playing the tourney. I don't want to do that and I don't have time for that. If it's split across 2-3 weekends, it's a lot better, honestly, but once again doesn't work well with the majority. Bo9 and bo7s is probably just too much tbf, unless you have multiple days for the tourney. I remember playing bo21 vs banani and we did it 3 or so days, and it's not even a tourney. Just exhausting.

Most top players have pretty much stopped playing tourneys because of how much time you need to put into it in one single weekend. A lot of the talk here is based on the assumption that they will actually sign up, which I don't see happening at all. Every year a seton tourney is a few top players with 2ks, sometimes also mixed with 1500s. The 2024 (iirc) one was probably the best seton tourney playerwise, cause every team was full 2k roster. And that one was played during ddos era, but we also had a semi-competent TD, which of course influenced things a bit. But I think it was still the best tourney

But then again MOST people do NOT want to be captains and that's another reason they don't sign up. So this is yet another issue why many good players aren't playing. There's enough obese players that are 2400-2500 rated and don't sign up just because of captaincy

And according to the twitchtracker stats, on average 1v1 tourneys are watched more than teamgame ones, and lower rated tourneys have fewer viewers on average ofc

Unfortunately, most of the suggestions we receive require changes on the server side, and FAF currently doesn't have a dedicated server maintainer. I.e, I wanted to change the order in which queue times are displayed, but even that requires server side changes. Realistically, there's not much we can do until someone is available to work with the server.

We had a soft reset in the past, I think it was done for the 2v2 queue. And there were 10x more complaints after the soft reset happened, so probably not going to happen any time soon again.

the tourney has been cancelled because some of the players were unable to attend today, they notified me earlier today. Only two players were left.

@ipconfig-release The player you're talking about was lucky. They got rating from playing a single uneven game vs players who were deranking. Back then uneven games were ranked, 2017ish

And global rating cannot be used honestly to call someone a 'top player' since you can play like sid or farm rating on astro

Mapgen games rules: Players host Mapgen in Tournament Format. Map sizes are determined in the Challonge. Each match you have ONE veto. In case veto is used, Mapgen is rerolled.

NB: The Tournament Director may find a map to be unsuitable for competitive play, in that case the TD may propose regenerating the map. The regeneration may only proceed with the explicit agreement of both participating players.

If players disagree on who will generate the map, they should make a !roll in #aeolus. The one who gets the highest number generates and hosts the map. If the rolled number is the same for both, players do !roll until there is a winner.

The tournament follows the FAF official rules as defined here https://forum.faforever.com/topic/6167/official-tournament-rules with a few additions:

1. If you don’t show up at the start of the tournament without notifying us, you’ll be disqualified from the current and next tournament. If you can't make it, let me know in advance so I can adjust the brackets.
2. Matches resulting in an end due to technical issues before 5 minutes have to be replayed with the same setup on the same map. The Tournament Director has a last say.
3. In case of draw the map is replayed with the same setup, players switch sides.
4. If a player doesn't show up in R1 they may be replaced, Otherwise after R1 it will be treated as a forfeit and they will be eliminated and not replaced.
5. Games on incorrect maps or with incorrect settings will not count and have to be replayed correctly.
6. The Tournament Director's decison is final.

Please join our Discord server (Opens a Discord invite) after you have signed up. The Tournament Director will provide reminders for the tournament and further updates there.

3) Where do I need to be on the day of the tournament?

It is very important that you join the IRC channel (#U1900). Instructions on how to do so can be found below. This will make it easier for the Tournament Director to oversee the players, the status of their games, and to make sure the lobbies are hosted with the correct map and settings.

Everyone's presence in the IRC channel will help ensure a smooth tournament.

4) How do I join the IRC channel?

i) On the FAF client, navigate to the Chat Tab, then click on the "+" symbol.

ii) Under the "Join a channel" label, type in "#U1900" (Without quotations).

iii) Congratulations, you've succesfully joined the U1900 IRC channel.

5) How long will the tournament last?

This depends on the number of participants and your individual progress. The full tournament can last between 3-4 hours, assuming there is no delay.

Well, sadly, not all older replays are replayable. Anything that is older than 4 years cannot be watched (except if you have a local file). They are stored on another server but iirc there are issues with connecting that server. One day someone will figure it out and we'll have all replays back

Absolver is absolutely goated, I always make it when I need it as aeon. It's just a skill issue that people don't know how to use it. It absolutely melts all shields including personal ones. Othuum indeed sucks ass in the current balance, it's slower than a harb and additionally they always bump into each other when turning. Giving an othuum same range on both guns would also be a nice idea, i.e. 25 range. That would be great for ythotha as well to fight megas.

And an overall sniper buff would be nice, at least making them cost cheaper. They're one of the most APM draining unit in 1v1s that you HAVE to build and cannot lose, because all of your damage is gone

Chicken storm is the only thing that carries the Seraphim in t3-t4 stage. Don't touch it!
