    RE: Account deletion

Just let the dude delete his account in peace lol He shouldn't have to justify it in any way.
We should have an automatic way for it if it's such a hassle to do it manually though.

Looks like you don't have a faction selected to me.

    RE: 2020 M&M Election

It really doesn't seem like a space that encourages new map makers, at times the direct opposite.

I've been on there for a while and mostly just see people being helpful when someone asks how to do something? Really would like some actual examples, because that's a completely different impression than I have.

Also, the "closed election" thing has already been discussed; if you have new ideas share them and tell us how you want to accomplish them. Otherwise this complaint is just a waste of time.

Just wait for the team match maker.

RE: Some good news about Team Matchmaking (TMM)

"We are NOT deleting your global rating. Custom games will continue to function exactly as they do now (provided there are no bugs)."

    Reading is hard.

    RE: map-based rating

Previous discussions never led to a consensus like "would be nice to have, but other things have priority".

It would solve a problem that only exists because of another problem: that people mostly play a single map. And we should solve that instead of making it even worse.

    RE: [Request/Suggestion] Cooperative Multiplayer Gamemode

The shared armies mod is basically that, but without the controlling your own ACU part. Everyone in your team can control everything.

RE: Veterancy removal for most units

That would be an insane buff to Strikers.

If anything it should just be removed with no compensation.

    RE: Cheating in SupcomFA

Last time he said Suzuji was using maphack because he "accurately guessed his income" when he basically told him his income just before... I wouldn't count what he says as actual facts.

Turn shitty antivirus off then it won't happen again.

It's been added to fafbeta, so you can test it there.

RE: League System Development: Division Icons Wanted

    I suggest Bronze --> Silver --> Gold --> Master --> Grandmaster --> Supreme Commander.
I don't really like military ranks or platinum/diamond stuff...
The highest division should have a cool name, maybe Supreme Commander, though that's a bit boring. Maybe Legend (or Legendary Commander) or Champion would be nice. Anyway I think the highest one should be a bit more creative.

    Just FA.

    RE: Reclaim

Instead of reducing reclaim you could make buildings less tanky, so it's easier to make leaving the reclaim worth it. This would reward exploiting weak points more and would also allow for easier comebacks by good play like sneaking in a drop or getting a few units behind enemy lines.

RE: Moses’ tips for team map design

I'm only playing Dual Gap because the people I play with basically only play this map... I'd prefer maps that aren't so boring but it's still better than having to play alone. Also Dual Gap at least fills fast. I play Wartime for the same reason, but I think it can be quite fun sometimes, at least there's actual action on it most of the time.
The M&M picks look a lot more interesting in general, gameplay wise, not just regarding visuals. Too bad my mates prefer boring maps.

RE: How long should FAF keep old replays?

I would do it differently for different categories. For example: Remove all replays less than 5 min long and older than 2 months (in case something a moderator needs to look at happened and the report is being worked on, I just assumed 2 months max)
Remove single player games after 1 month; if it's interesting the player should just save it themselves. Really no added value in keeping them for long.
Keep all rated and watchable (no desyncs) games forever, maybe put them on a different server just for storage after 5 years or so (so you can still download them if you need to, but they don't take up space on the main server).
There are probably a few more categories that I didn't think of that would make sense.

RE: MMLs are terrible - Lack of competent T2 siege option contributes to turtling

Terrible logic. T3 mobile arty only has 0,08 dps/mass ratio, so only about 25% of T2. Do you want to quadruple its damage after your MML buffs (applying the same logic as you did for your MML buff)? Then it would still only have half the effectiveness of your T2 MMLs. Cyb T3 mobile arty would then deal 1800 damage per shot. Only 2 of them (1600 mass cost) would have the same dps as a T3 artillery installation.

Just an example to show that this way of looking at balance is dumb and ignores many other things, like the additional range you get or that you force your enemy to make a building that is more expensive than an MML and is otherwise completely useless.

In general I think they are pretty good, they outrange T2 PD so can kill them with 0 danger. If your enemy wants to protect them he has to make a shield and/or build TMDs, so he's technically already losing even if you kill nothing. They are decently fast and can disengage easily. They always hit what you shoot at, unlike artillery. I think they fulfill their role well enough.

RE: Why would you have left FAF?

It's a game from 2007 and you can really feel that. Unresponsiveness when giving orders (they only get executed every 500ms...), pathfinding, weird terrain issues and many other things that feel bad when you know other newer games. On top of that once you join multiplayer you get completely dumped on because most people are way better than you. New player lobbies are terrible, too many idiot hosts that have retarded views and call everyone a smurf. There's no guide or whatever to explain what the hosted game titles even mean. I guess for the latter stuff we do have TMM now as a solution, but it's still only 2vs2, it should at least be up to 4vs4.
Also, 2 years is a long time to play a game, most people don't play the same game for hundreds of hours, so not sure how useful that 90% figure is.
