Hello, I'm kinda new here and would like to know whether this is a common issue in PvP as well.
I am experiencing an issue where engineers sometimes do not execute the Attack-Move command (Alt + Right Click) correctly.
Instead of reclaiming trees or other reclaimable objects along the path, engineers behave as if they received a regular move command: they simply travel to the destination, destroy trees on the way, and completely ignore reclaim. This behavior persists even if I try to use Patrol instead.

This usually happens early in the game, especially when an attack-move order was from factory and I changed it location.

I am not using any gameplay or UI mods. The only mod enabled is M27AI.
Could this behavior be related to it because performance issues (CPU load, simulation lag, or M27AI it self), or is it a known limitation / bug related to engineer reclaim logic?
      Any known workarounds?

Most likely cause is you have too much mass stored (around 80%+ I think)

Welcome to the club of people who have discovered "attack from factory" command. It makes engies move exactly to the attack spot and reclaim with double range from there. Devs don't want to remove it, so we call it a feature.

@Kilatamoro said in Engineers sometimes ignore Attack-Move (Alt + Right Click) and do not reclaim:

Correction here: there are a lot of players that prefer the feature to exist. It has grown on them. And I understand that. However, if it were up to me as a developer/designer then I would have removed it 🙂 It's opaque, you can't 're-issue the order' again and it also harms the normal attack move. It's essentially obsolete.

The range that is used for the attack-move-from-factory feature originates from this blueprint line:

If you reduce that, then the attack-move-from-factory feature is reduced in range too. A value like 10-15 would do fine. That's the simple fix. The difficult fix would be to actually fix the underlying bug through assembly patches.

Personally, I would even re-do the role of reclaim in this game. It's too explosive to my liking. I'd like to fight for reclaim over a longer period of time to give enemies (or yourself) more time to contest the reclaim field.

A work of art is never finished, merely abandoned

Id be fine with removing it if there is a replacement of "reclaim but do not move from position", like the guard mode in the total war games

Removing it right now will make worse the issue I raised about reclaiming from hard-to-reach places.
