T4s partially submerged are invisible when shooting
-
Hi,
I encountered this issue with a ML and a GC:
Units are partially under water yet their guns stick out so they can shoot. Unfortunately, they stay invisible to radar as well as direct view (basically cloaked). The chicken even hardly could damage the GC with its standard weapon when ground firing (energy ball did most of the damage) [game ID: ##26097802; around 30 min, center right area of the map).

My view:

Oppo's view:

This is an absurd situation. It's like a battleship firing in plain sight yet being invisible and hard to hit even with ground firing.
Cherry on top: while my chicken was also in water, the GC still could see it while my chicken could not see the GC
Please fix it.

Off topic, but those are some nice screenshots.

I was also told about this error once, in relation to my mod. I always thought I couldn't find the error, but I also never reproduced it with other units. ^^ So I hope a solution will be found. Unfortunately, I'm not good enough at it.

@speed2 perhaps you could enlighten us how to fix it then instead of showing off your "Fixed in Equilibrium".

There are several moving parts at work here.
First off, the GC is not on the Land layer, it's still technically on the seabed - and you don't have Water Vision, so to you, it's not visible. If you had WaterVision, in your blueprint, you'd be able to see him. Even though the GC is underwater, it still has normal Vision, so it can see you.
Second, your weapons are not likely allowed to hit units that are on the seabed AND below water. Whereas the GC's Eye beam weapon is allowed to fire when it's above the water level at targets that are above the water. This particular situation, might be improved by insuring that the bone, on the GC, that is above the water, is listed as one of it's 'Target Bones', as found in it's blueprint. In this way, your weapons would have a bone, that they can target, when it gets above the waves.
