I'm not sure how often people are playing 1v1s on 4/6 spawn maps, but that's probably part of why Palms and Badlands are so good (Petric perfectly explained why these two are my equal favourite maps), and the mapgen can create that pretty easily. You could turn the mexes (and maybe reclaim) slider(s) right down to avoid having an obscene amount of mass.

that's two pretty cool ideas. both are really pertinent. I think the first idea in particular because newer players often say they can't identify at all with the 2000+ type game-play they often see in videos and this makes it hard to captivate students. so showing them 400 rated play is much better. the dualist did a series kinda like this : https://youtu.be/NK-LvGL9HKc he's no FA expert though so I can see how having commentary from someone more knowledgeable would really improove this recipe.

The petals on the legs are just the harbinger shield generator head texture on a new shape and rebound to the feet. And the turret head was replaced with a bacteriophage stem.
