Thanks for the overview Jip, some very cool changes coming up, maps looking better than ever and very excited to see the mobile factories in action-- one very small gripe though, although this is less "development" related and more "balance" related-- won't reducing the BP of aircraft carriers make them not worth building? According to the current unit DB, carriers are roughly 3x the price of a T3 air fac... I think it will de-incentivize building carriers as mobile factories if it gives the same BP for 3x the price, mobile or not, having 1.5x BP seems like a fairer middle ground since that means you're still paying more for the BP but it's not quite so steep.
Oh wow I forgot I made this topic XD I am going to read all the replies now, I already see some great ideas and counter-points here.
So whoever's played Planetary Annihilation is familiar with the auto-ping system, every time a group of units are attacked, or a sometimes if a certain building has finished being constructed IIRC, a ping is sent to the player with a camera position.
Would it possible to implement something like this into FAF? And perhaps for its "sensitivity" to be adjustable? Since different players may want more or less pings.
I like the idea of letting the Fattie be able to build structures, build units on the move, and a slight bump to HP and speed.
100% agree that the Fattie needs a buff, I'd say just up the HP by 5k or so, maybe up the speed just barely a touch, and it'd be good, but these are definitely interesting suggestions.
I'd love to see a 5v5 mode instated sometime... B)
@maudlin27 said in THE ENGIE SYNDROME: "GIVE ENGIE" / "ДАЙ ИНЖА":
Well they did say read at your own risk!
More for the benefit of newer players who read this, if a teammate asks you for an engineer, you aren't obliged to provide it (although it's often a good idea since what also often happens, as described here, is they can get very angry about not receiving the engineer). If they then ctrl-K their ACU in response to your refusal (as described here) they're breaching the FAF rules and you can report them.
The above is a big reason why for a long time I liked playing Astro craters out of the 3 maps that seemed to be played on FAF (Setons, Gap, Astro), since at the time 4v4 TMM wasn't a thing and I really dislike maps where your team expects/demands you to play a particular way and you dont have the freedom to experiment with your own battle plans.
Fortunately now I have TMM and while a few maps there might be an expected air or navy slot it's fairly rare to get pings as described in the OP.
I can't speak to the role-designating (I do play Gap but generally try to avoid it as it's too stale for me) beyond that there are some cases where if everyone is expecting you to focus say on air units because you're in the most protected slot, and you then flaunt their requests and leave the team with no air, they will justly be quite upset, but as far as sharing engineers and the like goes, I'm not sure it's a good idea to encourage people to be uncommunicative assholes and work against their team, just because it's not technically against the rules... I have played too many games with people "just doing their own thing" that happened to involve entirely ignoring teammates, communication, and the general situation of the game (who sometimes then have the sheer gall to call you "toxic" for being vehemently displeased with such infantile behavior).
@stlng said in Nukes should explode in the air:
If the nuke damage is spherical the player would sacrifice some nuke damage area by detonating the nuke early, i.e., in the air, perhaps to catch a unit that moved.
Can just give it a larger AOE
I concur with the idea of buffing the shell speed and allowing it to move while building units. Personally also like the idea of giving it a personal shield and buffing its general HP but those might be too much. Maybe ever so slightly buff its movement speed as well?

@piguy "All Faction Quantum Gate"
Thanks, but this looks like it lets you build SCUs of ALL factions, I meant something that just adds RAS option for Seraphim.
@ftxcommando
A personal anecdote, I just won a game of Dual Gap thanks to my nuke subs (and I commonly build them on any map with a lot of water). As to the ideas presented here I actually like all of them, haha!-- Billy nuke and TMD rebalance, or slightly cheaper normal nukes, or even the upgrades idea @veteranashe presented.
@eternal said in After 5 years its time to go. It has been a blast. Thank you!:
@kenosis i remember times when gap of rohan was preferred more than gap
Haha, I too remember the days of yore before Dual Gap was even a thing... good times
@fafmsletje said in Why seraphim dont have RAS?:
ras bois for noobs, bild t2 mass fabs
Aren't T3 mass fabs more efficient now? T2 16 mass for 1600 power vs T3 16 mass for 1500 power
@veteranashe said in Why seraphim dont have RAS?:
There is mods for sera Ras bois or all factions gateway.
Fixed
Which ones? I looked up "Seraphim", "SACU", and "RAS" in the mods archive and didn't find anything. I can only guess it was named something without any of those words/acronyms.
@magge said in Can't find replay:
Sometimes it can take up to several days until they are available at the server. It depends on the length of the match and player count.
Guess I'll keep waiting then, and hopefully it will show up sometime, haha. Thanks again!
@magge said in Can't find replay:
Unless you have removed it, it has to be under local replays. That local stuff has nothing to do with the server - The server does not remove replays. Maybe you can find it, when you search for your username in the replay tab and list all last games you have played - Good luck!
Thanks, I'll keep trying.
@wikingest said in Can't find replay:
You can also access replays on your computer directly from "hamburger" menu. Three lines on top left corner of client > "Show replay folder". (Or by finding this folder directly on your computers file system.)
P.S. It seems that sometimes replays take some time to arrive into "FAF replays". When did you play this game? But yes, it should be in local replays.
Tried that as well, still nothing. I played it about 16 hours ago, is that long enough for it to go into the replays archive? Meanwhile I'll see if I can contact some of the other players, see if they also can't find the replay.
@magge Thanks, just checked there but unfortunately it's not there either. Could it have somehow been deleted from the servers?
It's pretty simple-- I played a game the other evening and wanted to show the replay to some friends, but for some reason I can't find it in the "replays" section. Any tips on how/where to find it? Would it be stored locally on my PC? Many thanks!
