Factory HQ graphics issue?
-
I'm trying out FAF again after a long while, looking to check out the Factory HQ mechanic I didn't quite get into before. I do like that the Factory HQ does have new parts added to it to make it look more distinct from the standard HQ, but I'm guessing the new parts aren't supposed to look like this:
The new parts on the UEF T2 Land Factory HQ shown here obviously doesn't have the same textures as the rest of the structure, instead looking quite glossy in the way an incomplete 3D render does. The faint lines on the part gives me the impression that this part is supposed to look like the vanilla textures, but somehow didn't render properly.
Compare to say the UEF T2 UEF Air Factory HQ, where the new parts render their textures, and thus they're indistinguishable from the vanilla textures:
The most glaring point is that this issue does not occur to every other Factory HQ in the game, and the team did do a great job with many of them (the Seraphim T3 Land Factory HQ does have some jank at the back, but it's not really visible in normal gameplay, and is passable enough even then). I'm wondering if there's a fix for this particular graphical issue.

We wanted to fix these issues, see also:
But there was a vocal minority that was so negative at the current progression of improving the situation that all the contributors that were capable of fixing it (make/edit 3d models, UVs and textures) lost the motivation to continue. One negative topic was this one, where in the 9th post I also convey the same problems. Combine that with flak from all different kind of sources/channels and there you go.
See for example this Discord topic from late 2022 where specifically the UEF land factory was being worked on.

@Jip That's a shame, so that means there won't be a fix for the issue anytime soon then.

Mentioning the vocal minority is kind of a clown move. There is no majority in faf, because 99% of players dont even use the forums

I also think it's a shame that it wasn't implemented. Is this version available as a mod so that the work wasn't in vain?
