The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!

Hello, I am new to making maps and I have an issue with uploading maps to FAF. I have successfully created, uploaded, and played my first map. After playing a few rounds with a friend I decided to change some things. The changes were made and the name changed as well. however I get an error while trying to upload the updated version that reads ( Map upload failed. Server gave the following errors: The scenario.lua has to contain the following line: map = '/maps/menage_a_trois_v2/menage_a_trois_v2.scmap' The scenario.lua has to contain the following line: save = '/maps/menage_a_trois_v2/menage_a_trois_v2_save.lua' The scenario.lua has to contain the following line: script = '/maps/menage_a_trois_v2/menage_a_trois_v2_script.lua' )

I am currently trying to resolve the issue, if anyone has any ideas please let me know! I am especially confused as I have successfully upload a map and played it online with friends doing the same process as I am doing now. Only hours separate me being able to upload and not being able to. I have even tried with other maps that I made and I am still having the same result.

I have posted this in the discord as well, hoping I don't duplicate the post.

Make sure that the paths in the file match your updated map name. Any typo, by any chance?

AFAIK, it is not necessary to write "v2" or any version in the map name, as you can increase the map version in the file itself using "map_version". (Look at the other maps for examples) I would not be surprised, that increasing the version by adding the v2 in the name is even the root issue.

I am not a mapper, so if am I wrong about it, please correct me.

Rather than not necessary, it's not actually allowed. Versioning of maps should be done with the "save as new version" option in the editor.
