Reclaim orders getting lost

I often notice reclaim being left even though I tried to reclaim it as part of my starting build order. When watching the replays I see these orders disappear.

I wonder if anyone has any idea why this happens or has any tips how to prevent this?

I get that my clicking might not be super accurate and some of the orders have missed the reclaim, but having 19 orders cancelled out of 20 makes it seem like there is something else going on.

I just did the same thing and it doesn't happen to me - none of the orders got lost. What UI mods are you playing with? And does the same behavior apply when you play with no UI mods?

Note that reclaim orders can be 'lost' if you try and reclaim a tree group that you accidentally trample.

90% sure you just was zoomed out too far, when you are zoomed out far you can't issue a reclaim order.

It used not to be a problem cause people would always zoom in to reclaim, mostly because it would not even render when you zoom out

But now FAF increased visibility of reclaim and you can see it without zooming in
AND people got bigger monitors and greater screen resolutions and it is easyer to click reclaim while zoomed out

For now only thing you can do is to zoom in and make sure your orders snap to the reclaimables, like when you click in the corner of the rock or tree group, order should snap to the middle of the rock or to the middle of the tree group...

Edit: you also can use right click to click reclaim, when you hover over reclaim cursor will change to reclaim icon letting you know you can issue a reclaim command with a right click, but when you are zoomed out to far and hover over reclaim cursor will not show reclaim icon

FAF should probably add a config to set the height at witch you can't make reclaim orders.

Not being able to set reclaim orders when zoomed out is sometimes very usefull when you want to micro ACU and try to avoid clicking on the trees or wrecks

You can issue those orders into nothingness if you issue some order (like move order) and then hold shift and click with reclaim hotkey into nothing (or zoomout and click reclaim anywhere and orders will not stick to anything even if you aim well).

And by the way, there was UI mod by Strogo that would make you unable to isse those false/ghostly reclaim orders, but i had some weird issues with that UI mod with that feature enabled so i had to disable it (mod name Random UI improvements)

See this mod - courtesy of strogo. This mod includes a special reclaim order which only issues if the order is placed on actual reclaim. See the linked post for further details.

@jip I used the reclaim hotkey. Doesn't everybody do it that way? It does not really seem feasible to reclaim sparse clumps of rocks without holding the reclaim hotkey. Anytime you miss you have to go and delete a move order.
