DilliDalli - 1v1 specialist AI

TLDR: Please play vs my new DilliDalli AI and let me know how it goes!

Hi everyone - just wanted to make a quick post to officially announce my DilliDalli AI, which I am hoping can start to give humans a challenge in 1v1 situations (without the use of cheat multipliers / vision).

The AI is in the mod vault so feel free to give it a go if that sounds interesting! I'd love to use this thread to announce improvements I make, and also to get feedback from you guys. Any replays IDs you have playing my AI are super valuable - I can automate AI vs AI games but there's nothing like testing against the real deal.

Right now I'd give it ~600 rating for 5x5 and 10x10 maps, but I'm really not too sure (which is where you can all help out).

Under the hood it's a complete AI framework rewrite (~0 code overlap with anything else AI after initialisation), which (I believe) gives me the flexibility to tune up some more competitive behaviours. Watch this space because there's all sort of improvements in the pipeline (like actually teaching it how to move air units). Feel free to ask questions about all that too if you're interested, probably going to make some separate posts at some point talking about it in depth and trying to get more people involved in development.

I've started using your AI for my de-rust campaign after its tourney performance. Only desire so far is that it would be slightly less suicidal with the ACU #14850042 (forgive my poor play). I think I could learn a lot from its aggression.

How strong do you think the cheating version is because it absolutly crushed me?!

Yep - the ACU aggressiveness is a bit... over tuned right now; rewriting the ACU behaviour is probably my next task (in the meantime I tuned it down slightly, but it still won't be very good right now).

The cheating strength will very much depend on the cheat factors you applied, I'd certainly hope that with cheats on it'd be able to catch people off guard though.

Love the new AI, - great first release.
I've been taking some notes as playing and noted that:
On one map 2 Dilli AI's didn't claim the Hydro next to their base, and didn't attack enemy hydro when near it.
AI was still building T1 pgens at 35 minutes, (some AI's actually reclaim T1 pgens latter in game)
One game there was no nuke defense at minute 45.
There was little to no reclaim of a couple of nearby T4 wrecks and
Of course the ACU's walking across whole 10k map to opponents base (danger, danger!)

Things that are Great about it.
Expands very fast and wide, and
My fav - It FULLY utilizes "Full Share" when teammate gets killed, it takes over the base and Produces from the factories!

Looking forward to the new release.

I installed this AI mod, how do i use it? It's not an option in the dropdown Ai list when setting up opponents in the game lobby...

You need to enable the mod first in the Mod Manager (go to select a map -> Mods in bottom left corner). Once selected, the AI will be visible in the drop down.

A work of art is never finished, merely abandoned

In Create game panel, select the AI you'd like to use in the SIM tab.

I haven't played any other user created AI, but I like this one. It puts the kind of pressure on me that I need to be able to improve. And ya, that's a spicy commander.

Try Swarm AI and RNG AI-both can be quite challenging in the right situation

On cobalt valley, the enemy AI ACU ran off alone without its army near a side choke point instead of the main battle. It makes army but isn't that powerful with low map control.

A made à standard land build order and went mid to encounter no resistance.

New update with a 47% less spicy commander, as well as improvements to air unit control.

I rather enjoyed the spicy commander 🤷

There's such a thing as too spicy!
