Unfortunately due to a lack of time and manpower we are unable to host Macro Mania on the selected dates. We haven't decided on a new date yet but we will hope to announce the date adjustments alongside some format changes before the end of June.
Welcome to the first edition of Macro Mania! As it says in the title, this will be a tournament which somewhat tests your ability to play macro in the most chaotic of ways. There are quite a few different features of this tournament, so please read thoroughly through the post.

If there are 2 groups, 2 teams from both groups will advance.
OR
If there are 4 groups, only 1 team will advance from each group.
The final stage will be a single elimination bracket of 4 teams, the Semi-Final will be BO3 and the Final will be BO5.

Commiserations to those who ended up losing, I hope you all had a good experience regardless!
I would like to personally thank @staledevil and @knownsniper for covering the entirety of the tournament, you guys did an amazing job, and made the cast very entertaining and insightful. And as usual a shoutout to the Tournament Team for giving feedback, helping out with organising, and also @rhaelya and @grimplex for TD'ing. Aaaaand another shoutout to @fichom who has been singlehandedly creating graphics and charging the newsposts. Thank you all!

After discussing with the Tournament Team, we have decided to let the top 8 players in the LotS points system pick their first opponent of the Swiss Stage. I will update the list below as I receive replies from the players.

The veto system for the Swiss Stage will be a lot more simple as it is only BO1 throughout the entire stage. The veto rules are as follows:
Once the map has been decided, both players will DM the TD with 2 factions they would like to pick, and the faction they would like to ban for their opponent (You can pick the faction that you ban).

Once both players have informed the TD, the TD will ping them in discord channel of which faction they will be playing.

This stage is almost identical to LotS, the main changes are that the first round is seeded, and that the 2-2 bracket the matchups will be versus the players coming from the opposite scoreline.

A slight change which is that the qualifying match in the losers bracket will be BO3.

Just a quick announcement, not all invitations were accepted, meaning that there will be 2 extra qualifying slots from the qualifier. So in total there will be 6 players that come from the qualifiers into the Swiss Stage.
You will be able to find the rounds where you qualify under the round name in the challonge, and since the rule change after LotS, the matches that would have been played after you qualify will no longer be played.
The maps will be assigned tonight or tomorrow, and not every single map is likely to be selected.
@Morax yeah I understand that, I'll look into making some events in the future better for players in NA timezones
@Morax How much of a pushback in general would be preferable? Not sure if I'll change anything yet though

@Nuggets If you read the forum post, you would be able to see that the post tells you how the format works. With that information I don't think its hard to figure out how many games are going to be played from the amount of teams there are, and which you can also guess how its likely to be split between both days.
Appreciate the feedback. But yeah we've been getting a lot of feedback about Sat/Sun tourneys and will look to work the schedule of future tourneys using the Sunday only if necessary.
We've had a lot of feedback regarding the intense date structure, which has also had an impact on signups. So to combat this, I've discussed it with the team and we now plan to make the Swiss Stage only BO1. This means the Swiss Stage will only take 1 day. So there will be a minimum of 3 BO1's and a maximum of 5 BO1's to be played, depending on how well you play.

@QuantumTyphoon It's unfortunate that this happened but it is always UTC for every tournament we host, its standard practice. I don't see many others having issues with the UTC timezones so I don't plan on changing that as it will just cause more confusion.
