Black screen when i join a lobby

Hello guys
When I join a lobby, I get a black screen, and my monitor displays a message saying that if no signal is received, the screen will turn off after 15 seconds, which seems to be what's happening. It's not due to mods, as I'm joining lobbies without mods. I reinstalled the game; my PC had been off for maybe six months. -
Can you play the game via steam?

Idk what you mean by that. You say yes it works via steam but it also has the problem? xD
I'm assuming you just mean it also doesnt work on steam. Then its a game issue and not faf. I'd recommend using the steam launch parameter to open the game in windowed mode. Unfortunately I dont know it from the top of my head, so you would need to google it.
It could be a problem with the resolution, thats why im recommending trying this
