Before 5.0 update there was a hotkey for assigning all of the selected engineers to the one with the biggest tech. After update, it is gone. Is there any replacement for this?

        From the patch notes:

        - (#4994) Removal of the following hotkeys:

          - Recheck targets of weapons of selected units
          - Filter the selection to the most advanced engineer, all other engineers assist that engineer

The latter didn't fit in with the idea of automation. Instead, you can do this manually by using the selection subgroups functionality

You can use the selection subgroups functionality to quickly filter between tech levels (of engineers). See also the hotkeys menu, it is a category

Oh. That explains why that hotkey stopped working, for me.

Why exactly was it removed, though?
The selection functionality hotkeys can do the same, sure, but they do so with more APM.

At the time there was no alternative that would make it a UI-only adjustment, and therefore we introduced some automation. Now we do have that, so we removed it again
