I want to make a big narrative video about the history of FAF

Hi everyone, I want to make a big video about the history of FAF to attract new players and volunteers to the community (in Russian).

If you don't mind, I want to ask you a couple of questions, you can answer them at your convenience, as far as you know about each question.

Absolutely anyone who knows anything and is willing to participate can answer!

What do you know about GPGNet? How long was it online, how did it work, maybe was there Vanilla to play there or only FA, and why did it close?
As far as I remember, Ze_Pil0t started developing FAF back when GPGNet was working, in what year did it all happen and for what Purpose? Was it already clear then that the official platform would soon close?
How is FAF structured? How does it work, how is its architecture structured (in simple terms).
Who stood at the origins of FAF besides Ze_Pil0t? How quickly did the community form, what were the tasks and how were they distributed?
Why Ze_Pil0t, and in general many people were in the community of origins? And who got the "rights" to FAF? Who are they supporting now?
How was the FAF consortium/council formed? Who makes decisions and how?
Tell us about the community, players, modders, map creators, etc. What opportunities does FAF have for them?
Name the main achievements of FAF in your opinion
Also, the main difficulties and problems in FAF were named, which of them were overcome?
I remember that FAF did not require a link to Steam, why did they do it?
How do you think FAF feels now? What is better and what is worse than it was before? What is missing?

I will try to answer to your first 2 questions, take with a pinch of salt what i'll say (i wasn't there at the time).

As far as i know GPG net was to play multiplayer, i never saw it, so i don't know too much about it, it was a matchmaker and supported a lobby chat function, i believe replays, and possibly other features. About vanilla or FA idk, but i expect such a platform to be there from the start rather than come out with a "dlc". It closed because the company stopped mantaining it years later, i think this was before the company failed.

introduction by Ze_pilot, he says that gpg was not "alive" but simply "still up". Turns out he was right about imminent end of gpgnet which happened around a year later.
