Is it possible to make it so that when your cursor changes to the construction mode, you see what terrain is not allowing you to build there. Like when you want your naval factory as close to the shore as possible, and you have to "pixel-hunt" to find out where you can build.

Ideally, instead of the construction cursor being either green or red, it would have green and red for each of its squares.

We've been investigating a feature like this. It is possible, but it is difficult to make it user friendly because of a rather significant delay. That is what has been holding it back.

Red Alert 3 (and other games) had something similar to this.

Here's top hoping it does get added. This would be very useful.

Though too bad you can't quite fix the terrain displacement... sometimes you can't cap a mex.
Sometimes you can't build a factory next to a hydro... It's annoying.

Zero-K is a Spring Engine game and it has a feature where, when you have a unit selected, it shows where it can path when you press F2. If you press F2 while trying to build a structure, it instead shows you where that structure can be built. Great feature, hope it's possible to get something like this in FAF.

As Jip explained, he has already put work into it, but there are technical problems which make it very difficult to make the feature actually provide a good experience

Yes, I haven't found a proper solution to it yet.
