Forum like button could be improved?

Just looking at the
likebutton, this thing here:
and thinking it's so generic and vague that no one knows what it is. It looks to me at first glance like a link to jump to the top of the thread for example or to collapse a comment. Could this image be changed to something like a thumbs-up or the word "like" itself? Might encourage more usage and positive feedback for contributors.

I kinda liked it for not being a generic thumbs up button. Also didnt struggle finding it or knowing what it meant

I'll not make any customizations to this forum, as this will always cause trouble in the long run. This theme already causes enough trouble (e.g. look at the mark all unread messages as read button)
