The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!

In particular, check the default format.
Hopefully, that'll fix the issues you are having!
If that doesn't work, please check under the "regular" Windows audio settings as well.
