There was nothing in the log, and I can't reproduce with your game.prefs
Could you send a video showing the issue? I don't think I'm going to be able to figure this out

In this image fac 1 was placed first and facs 2 and 3 automatically got an assist order to fac 1 because they were close/adjacent/whatever.
Fac 4 was not automatically given the auto assist order because it was too far away / whatever.
How about when you place a factory down it automatically sets up the assist-other-factory command.
There are various ways to do that like only set up the order automatically if...
90% of the time I want things assisting and that's something I need to do manually after the factory has started construction. It would be easier just to cancel assistance the few times I don't want an assist. Or I could hold control while placing the fac to not-setup-assistance.
It's just a quality of life thing.
Hey there.
I can't reproduce the issue - do you get it when there is only a commander on the map and no other units. I have seen things like that before over the years but it is rare and I haven't heard many complaints.
How frequently can you replicate the issue?
Can you replicate the issue and send me a log file? And your game.prefs file.
Maybe I can find a clue in there.
Fullscreen mode is bad .. there is some instability with it and alt-tabbing takes too long. Make it windowed mode and just drag it across two screens. Then use ui party and turn on start split screen option. It rearranges menus like the construction bar so it spans only the left monitor
The new reclaim grouping is really awesome. What could be really nice is instead of numbers, it just showed a heatmap as coloured cells, and as you zoomed in those cells would become more granular where the reclaim is. That would visualise the same data with less "noise". I tried to build something long ago but the performance was dismal - the new reclaim grouping must be doing something much better than what I was trying.
Hmm. This has never been reported before.
Try disabling other mods, only keeping uiparty, and see if problem persists.
Uiparty has a setting to disable it mid game, as well as settings to disable different features and it tells you which features are the slow ones.
Maybe you could flick switches until you find the part of ui party that is the issue.
Next time the huge lag occurs send me the log and I'll have a look.
@defiant said in WD #3 - Ridiculous Balance Ideas:
ACUs can be upgraded arms from dead ACUs.
That's pretty cool
The overlay is often wrong, it doesn't take into account mass stalls. Prob or want using mass, but to be sure you could sandbox a new game and only have one fac and look at your mass bar
Nice work. And presumably team colors itself is fine if you do it manually?
I can't test right now but 2 out of 2 other people have told me they can't replicate your bug. Does it work fine with uiparty disabled?
Doesn't look like something a ui mod can even break.
Hey Immortal, sorry I didn't get back you - I did see your other message about this.
Are you aware of the game.prefs.bad files? (or its called something similar to that). If FAF cant load your file it makes a copy and renames it. Your lost shortcut keys are still in that file. In FAF client you can show game prefs file
in the menu. It should be there.
If you edit this section of the game.prefs you can manually set the x/y location of the window. Using
If you made a backup before you tampered with the file you can just restore that backup and fix the x/y using the screenshot above. Always make backups before manually editing game.prefs.
In answer to your question in the other thread, ui party works for me on 2022.6.0
Cybran acu for sure. Maybe corsairs
Obviously you are highly motivated and the ui modding world is going to be a better place with you doing all this.
However there are already mods that do these things and making them slightly faster / prettier / better code, is not as useful as adding a new feature. For example just skip all that stuff above and make a mod that allows two construction queues - the repeat queue and the one off queue. Imo that is more useful.
To make banning possible, you could add code to FAF sim to detect if too many things are switched too often, and have it autoreport the user somehow, for example by adding a message to chat, or doing something similar to achievements.
This way ui modders couldn't byass the block, and moderators wouldn't have an unreasonable workload.
