This is a 2v2 Double Elimination bracket with a mix of BO1 and BO3 , Where BO3 games in the winners bracket and BO1 games in the losers bracket, teams will be made via a captain draft.

Tournament Setup: The Tournament will aim for High Rated Games Minimun sign up Rating will be at 1800 Global Rating , Any Major Rating Drop or gaining will be examined.
Top players will be assignet as Captains and can choose their teammember from players available Starting from the lowest Rated Captain.(With a Team cap of 4500 max) There will be no Faction Veto.The captain on the higher seeded team will host each game.
Prize money will be split equally on a team.
Players will choose the maps to play in their BO3 based on the pool provided above.3 alternating vetoes each, low seed vetoes first The top seed gets the first map pick, the bottom gets the 2nd, and they veto down to 1 map for their tiebreaker game.

Maps: All maps will be MapGen! The Tournament Director will provide mapgens for each match and the slots, both teams will have 1 veto per serie to strategically shape their battlefield.
Build Your Dream Team: This is your chance to create the ultimate squad! Team up with friends and submit your roster or sign up alone and be assignet to a random team !
Rating will be based off Global Rating!
No Minimum Requirement for joining—everyone is welcome!
Team Cap: Max team rating of 5900 with a rating cap of 2300 per player for balance (e.g., 2300 + 1800 + 1800).
No Faction Vetoes.
Any Major Rating Drop or Gain will be examined.

I have an exciting suggestion to elevate the competitive spirit in our beloved game, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. As you know, our matchmaking season ranking resets every six months, providing a fresh start and new opportunities for everyone. But what if we added an extra layer of thrill to this already intense competition?

Introducing Seasonal Prizes for the Top Three Grandmasters!

To celebrate the incredible skill and dedication of our top players, i propose awarding cash prizes to those who achieve the highest ranks at the end of each season. Here’s what i was thinking:

1v1 Grandmasters:

1st Place: $50
2nd Place: $30
3rd Place: $20

2v2 Grandmasters :

1st Place: $50
2nd Place: $30
3rd Place: $20

3v3 Grandmasters :

1st Place: $50

The funding for this prize pool could come from reallocating resources, such as making one less tournament and utilizing the savings to support this event. This approach ensures that the competitive scene remains vibrant and rewarding without needing additional funding.

Why This Matters
Increased Competition: Prizes will motivate more players to participate actively in the ranking system, leading to more exciting and competitive matches.
Recognition: Highlighting the achievements of the top players fosters a sense of community and respect within the game.
Motivation: Rewards provide tangible goals, encouraging players to improve their skills and strive for excellence.
Long-Term Activity Grind: Unlike a tournament, where players are highly active for just a week, this system encourages sustained engagement and long-term participation throughout the entire season.
How It Could Work:
Season Duration: The ranking season continues to reset every six months.
Eligibility: Players who reach the Grandmaster top 3 rank in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 will be automatically eligible for the prizes.
Distribution: Prizes will be distributed at the end of each season, based on the final ranking in each matchmaking category.
Funding: By reallocating resources from one less tournament per year, we can utilize the FAF savings to support this exciting new initiative.
I believe this change could bring a new level of excitement and engagement to Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. Let's make our competitive scene even more thrilling and rewarding!

I haven’t ruled out splitting the tournament, for example, holding the first part on Saturday and continuing on Sunday or even the following weekend. Thank you for your feedback. I want to clarify that I’m not downplaying the importance of tournaments at all. I love tournaments too—I’ve participated in several and even hosted the "High Rated 2v2 Tournament" a few months ago. My mention of tournaments was purely for comparison. In one of my previous comments, I referenced the King of Seton 2v2 Tourney from January, which was great but also highlighted how we’ve been focusing heavily on certain repetitive formats. My point was that perhaps, instead of funding yet another Seton tournament, we could explore something new, like the Matchmaking Seasonal Prizes.

Regarding the concern that a ladder event might not entice inactive players, I believe it’s important to innovate and try different approaches rather than always focusing on bringing back old, inactive players. Of course, it’s great when they return, but we also need to keep our current player base engaged and excited. You mentioned that people aren’t as interested in random ladder games, but if you look at Gyle casts, Tactical Takeover, Strategic Launch, and even BRNKoINSANITY back in the day, these casters often cover random ladder games and draw a lot of views. The appeal often lies in how the games are presented and who is casting them.

As for the concern about encouraging people to grind ladder, I respectfully disagree. Ladder is where the true FAF experience lies, and I believe you understand this too, given that you’ve played around 6,000 ladder games compared to 2,063 custom games. It’s not about manipulating players—it’s about providing an opportunity for those who take the game seriously and play it daily to experience healthy competition and have something to strive for.

Why not offer a chance for these dedicated players to enjoy some friendly competition with a tangible reward? It’s not about turning FAF into a grind, but about recognizing and rewarding the commitment that some players already demonstrate. I don’t see it as unethical or manipulative—we’re simply exploring ways to keep our beloved game alive and engaging. The goal is not to force anyone to play but to enhance the experience for those who are already invested.

Again we are not Trying to Manipulate anyone to anything or do anything unethical psychos here you can also have a season off without the seasonal prices with how the season are now you can do a season with prices and one not. I am a player myself and i have no role in FAF so this has literally no benefit for me! This is just a Suggestion from me which i am ready to defend and convince you or get proven wrong!

Just to give you some context, FAF has been targeted by quite a few DDoS attacks recently. There was a period when the servers would go down almost daily, which made it tough to host any consistent events—casual games and especially tournaments.

Lately, the attacks have slowed down, though they still pop up unpredictably. For example, our recent MapGen tournament was hit mid-event, which forced us to postpone the games to the next day. Unfortunately, that change led to some teams leaving because they couldn't make the adjusted time. So the DDoS thread still exists , But overall, it’s looking more promising also since there is a lot of acitivity in the TD team now and if the stability holds, it could be the right moment to bring more regular tournaments back.

Wdym Traditional Setons is played 4v4? We actually had a 2v2 Setons tournament not too long ago , It’s a bit much to assume everyone will understand your format just from a map picture. A well-structured and balanced tourney really helps attract players to sign up.

The link I shared earlier has a great example of a balanced 4v4 Setons tourney format that might be helpful to check out if you're aiming for a clear and organized setup.

Tourney seems a bit unclear , are you aiming for a high rated setons or a lower one ? is it 2v2 or 4v4 ? can i just stack a team with tagada yudi farms ? How is the tourney gonna be balanced if there are 5 teams >1800 and the other 5 teams under <1700.
