      To download it check out the Mod vault in the FAF Client search for MarLo
      I'll try to present my mod in the best way possible.

      My idea was to create Unique and fun units, we really don't need 4 different T1 fighters, am I right?
      I might have not achieved this with some units and the quality varies a lot between my units.

      But you can make up your own mind, it's quite sad that mods don't get played often, players don't look at units but it's not a lost cause I bet and hope.

      These are mostly UEF units only but that will change i want to create a total of 50 units per faction which means UEF is more than halfway done

      So here we go,
      The units:


      MK12 - Heavy Cannon Truck, T3 Land
      It's basically a good titan.

      MK13 - Naval Bunker, T3 Structure
      It's basically a T3 Naval Artillery, which means it can only shoot at navy but is quite powerful for defending against a huge navy.

      MK14 - APC, T2 Land
      Well, it is an APC, it has shitty armor but a bit of punch its light armament allows it to fire at air units too and it's powerful AT rocket make it a great harassing unit.

      It's a T2 Tank without a turret, quite Powerful and tanky but a lil slow.

      My first experimental unit, it is a T4 Gunship with Air staging and Strong AA.

      MK22 - Mobile Radar, T2 Land
      A very expensive to run mobile radar with range inbetween T1 and 2 Radars has great vision.

      A semi Experimental built by T3 Factory, it has strong stats but costs a lot too.

      This is part of my Superheavy units they are very slow but pack a punch and have lots of HP.

      This is a Napalm launcher it is the ultimate spam killer.

      One of my favorites, it is a Fast Trimaran design Dreadnought with heavy armament.

      This is a nice little T3 amphibious unit quite expensive but has really strong torpedos and main gun.

      A huge Hovercraft that is supposed to be used to support Land and Navy with torpedos, AA and Missile defense.

      A Defensive Artillery piece rapid-fire, low range and large spread.

      MK1000 - Super Heavy Tank, T4 Land
      Based of the German P1000 Rat this is a huge Tank with naval style Cannons and loads of AA.

      This an ADATS which means that it can shoot heavy missiles at air and ground units effectively.

      MK44 - Nuke Cannon, T3 Land
      Based on the legendary design of the PLA Nuclear Cannon from Command and conquer this beast delivers nuclear payloads in a timely fashion.

      MK45 - MARV, T3 Land
      Based on the Mobile armored reclamation vehicle from the GDI from Command and Conquer this vehicle eats units like they were Tiberium.

      MK46 - Heavy Destroyer, T3 Naval
      Finally, some more naval units, this unit is supposed to fill the spammable T3 ship gap in the UEF roster since the Battlecruiser sucks, if you ever face off against it watch out for its powerful torpedo launcher.

      MK47 - Heavy Cruiser, T3 Naval
      And another one, this is supposed to be a direct replacement for the battlecruiser, this way more realistic cruiser has powerful AA and strong long-range Missiles but can also defend itself with its strong 3 Barrel Main guns.

      MK51 - Cybran Dreadnought, T3 Naval
      Yes the first Cybran unit, the response to the UEF Dreadnought a submersible fast-firing glass cannon that can EMP even larger ships.

      MK52 - UEF Support Carrier, T3 Naval
      This ship is not suited for direct combat but it is kitted out with anything a navy could need: rain down 80 Cruise missiles at once on enemy shores, wipe enemy aircraft from the skies with 4 powerful phalanx CIWS and finally keep the rest of your navy safe under a massive shield and protection from TML.

      MK53 - AEON Naval Cannon, T3 Naval
      And the Aeon finally get their deserved Naval Cannon which can actually be built on water and comes with torpedoes at the cost of fire rate.

      MK54 - UEF Early Battleship, T2 Naval
      Even with all these Powerful ships, the UEF still struggles against enemy naval attacks and has brought back older models of Battleships

      MK56 - UEF Superheavy Battlecarrier, T3 Naval
      And the UEF immediately step it up 5 notches by producing the largest and most powerful ship to ever exist in this galaxy, Bismarck intensifies

      MK57 - AEON MBT, T3 Land
      AEON also got their MBT now with hover included.

      MK58 - Cybran Naval Cannon, T3 Structure
      And the Cybran Nation finally gets their naval cannon but they've added an additional Barrel combined with ai controlled autoloaders this increases the rate of fire by 33%

      The Cybran have also followed the trend and developed their own MBT which can also float and is equipped with Coaxial Torpedo Tubes.

      This unit really is a masterpiece based on the CIS HMP Droid Gunship this gunship can mow through units and bases like it was properly a made air experimental and it is.

      MK69 - Cybran Experimental Spiderbot, T4 Land
      Well, I feel like a hypocrite saying that Cybran has too many bots and then I give them another experimental bot, oh well, but here it is just some variation to experimental warfare, equipped with a strong laser which can also target air to get rid of pesky gunships and a heavy laser cannon to get rid of that Perci spam.

      And yeah we've hit the cursed number, this mod is growing rapidly as of late because of Corona, stay healthy!

    • The Vault sort by rating system is bad and needs to be changed

      Why is it bad?

      The system is heavily biased towards content having a perfect score of all ratings being 5/5 stars, a mod with a single 1 star review and a single 5 star review will be very very far back in the sorting system while a mod with 2 5 star reviews gets placed near the top.

      In the above example you can see how a map with 6; 5/5 ratings is sorted above a map with 10; 5/5 ratings and a single 4/5 review. Not only is this very far from being proper sorting the map sorted above is, objectively by reviews and from a personal review of the content, just terrible.

      Now you might say the first 15 maps seem to be properly sorted since they are quite good and popular -> just check the second page, theres an astro clone on there which was even rejected by the astro community since it barely has 220 plays.

      It gets worse

      Switching to the mod vault
      There are some great mods that show up only on the 4th page of highest rated, it is sad to see great mods that need to fight for popularity in a niche market get sorted in such a terrible fashion, mods that deserve more attention get sorted far back while mods like "T1 UNIT HEALTH X100" get sorted higher. See for yourself:

      How do they sort it?

      They use a very complex mathematical equasion called: Binomial proportion confidence interval. This isnt a bad way to sort but the devs did a terrible implementation. A simpler system like (stars * amount of reviews) would work way better.

      Hello,
      Im glad you stumbled across my map. This is merely a proof of concept map, the biggest issue is that units will lack range circles due to how I made this work:
      The mesh is split into entity meshes, I use the map script to spawn the entities and then attach the map meshes in the center.
      To get unit collision I just use the normal heightmap, but I use the hide terrain console command, so basically this is still a normal map but the terrain is hidden and visually replaced by a mesh. This is why I need the mod, which contains these meshes.

      Now since the game renders thing like decals, unit range rings, building outlines etc. ontop of the heightmap, all these things also get disabled when I hide the terrain.

      The Cybran cruiser already fires missiles which track, @Sprouto there is a difference between a tracking projectile and a missile, a tracking projectile requires merely one or two blueprint changes, only tactical missiles and nukes require a script to make them work, they are not tracking either

      Yes transparent textures do work, Jip has done a lot of work on the shaders and Its even possible to do terrain culling, but this has the same issues as the console command, ie range rings etc. dont render, it may be possible to create an entity shader that does render range rings and decals on it, I dont know

      The problem is that its recommended UI mods and not mods

      @TheWheelie Almost all 1 star reviews on my mod are bug reports, im certain that this is also the case with most 1 star reviews on other mods, I have provided an alternative where 1 star and 2 star reviews can yield negative sorting score. I still believe that 1 star reviews can represent general interest in a mod and since theyre mostly "not working" or "game freezes" etc. I think it could either allow the original author to fix it or have another author provide a better comparable mod.

      My biggest issue with the current system is that it doesnt make popularity valueable it sorts mods with 2 5 star ratings way infront of big mods people put a lot of work into that have a higher chance of having issues or bugs which may yield bad reviews throughout its development.

      @Brutus5000 Which is still good, it means that that mod has some form of popularity and allow for changes to be made.

      And besides its way better than a 2x5 star rated mod being sorted above a 35xMixed star.

      This an ADATS which means that it can shoot heavy missiles at air and ground units effectively.

      Based on the legendary design of the PLA Nuclear Cannon from Command and conquer this beast delivers nuclear payloads in a timely fashion.

      MK45 - MARV, T3 Land
      Based on the Mobile armored reclamation vehicle from the GDI from Command and Conquer this vehicle eats units like they were Tiberium.

      MK46 - Heavy Destroyer, T3 Naval
      Finally, some more naval units, this unit is supposed to fill the spammable T3 ship gap in the UEF roster since the Battlecruiser sucks, if you ever face off against it watch out for its powerful torpedo launcher.

      And another one, this is supposed to be a direct replacement for the battlecruiser, this way more realistic cruiser has powerful AA and strong long-range Missiles but can also defend itself with its strong 3 Barrel Main guns.

      Yes the first Cybran unit, the response to the UEF Dreadnought a submersible fast-firing glass cannon that can EMP even larger ships.

      MK52 - UEF Support Carrier, T3 Naval
      This ship is not suited for direct combat but it is kitted out with anything a navy could need: rain down 80 Cruise missiles at once on enemy shores, wipe enemy aircraft from the skies with 4 powerful phalanx CIWS and finally keep the rest of your navy safe under a massive shield and protection from TML.

      Well, I feel like a hypocrite saying that Cybran has too many bots and then I give them another experimental bot, oh well, but here it is just some variation to experimental warfare, equipped with a strong laser which can also target air to get rid of pesky gunships and a heavy laser cannon to get rid of that Perci spam.

      And yeah we've hit the cursed number, this mod is growing rapidly as of late because of Corona, stay healthy!

    • The Vault sort by rating system is bad and needs to be changed

      Why is it bad?

      The system is heavily biased towards content having a perfect score of all ratings being 5/5 stars, a mod with a single 1 star review and a single 5 star review will be very very far back in the sorting system while a mod with 2 5 star reviews gets placed near the top.

      In the above example you can see how a map with 6; 5/5 ratings is sorted above a map with 10; 5/5 ratings and a single 4/5 review. Not only is this very far from being proper sorting the map sorted above is, objectively by reviews and from a personal review of the content, just terrible.

      Now you might say the first 15 maps seem to be properly sorted since they are quite good and popular -> just check the second page, theres an astro clone on there which was even rejected by the astro community since it barely has 220 plays.

      It gets worse

      Switching to the mod vault
      There are some great mods that show up only on the 4th page of highest rated, it is sad to see great mods that need to fight for popularity in a niche market get sorted in such a terrible fashion, mods that deserve more attention get sorted far back while mods like "T1 UNIT HEALTH X100" get sorted higher.       How do they sort it?

      They use a very complex mathematical equasion called: Binomial proportion confidence interval. This isnt a bad way to sort but the devs did a terrible implementation. A simpler system like (stars * amount of reviews) would work way better.
