      Hey,

I'm mostly casual gaming against AIs, so please bear with me here.

When I'm playing UEF on small maps (e.g. Fields of Isis), usually there's some T1 skirmish going on early with units and commander (mainly land based). When I try to fortify a forward position I can hold them off pretty decently. But soon after, as things move to T2, the enemies will bring out the T2 mobile tac missiles and it seems there's virtually nothing I can do about it. No amount of fortification will hold them back. I put up shields and tac missile defense (lots of it), but the UEF defense doesn't handle large volleys of missilies particularly well (unlike Aeon, which can divert a seemingly infinite number of missiles). Artillery feels way to slow to pick them off and is also easy to dodge for AI, same thing when I try to match their mobile tac missile numbers.

I can't really go out of my position to pick them off easily, because the enemy commanders will still linger among them, so before I'm able to get T3 units online it seems like there's nothing I can do about it.

I'm guessing the answer is that I can't fortify and need to continuously push out aggressively and not allow them to build up so much stock, but that feels really hard when the AI can do all that and easily out-macro me at the same time.

Just curious, how would you deal with these scenarios? Is there any way to fortify a UEF position against mass tac missiles without investing all my eco into it?

        Build TMD
Make guncom/nanoguncom and tanks to kill enemy MMLs

How about you taking the initiative and it being you that's putting pressure on their base or firebase?
The route to winning is often psychological. Get the jump on them and keep them off balance.

AI uses TML very well to pick off valuable targets, so you really don't want them to set up. It's going to take proactive scouting to find where they are and some quick bomber or gunship strikes to take them out.

Defensively, the upside is that T2 TMD is relatively cheap and can be spammed, but if you're playing for map control you clearly can't defend everything, so going on the offensive is better.

Alternate option: Play cybran and get T3 loyalist bots ASAP and watch those missiles bounce back to the launchers that sent them. lol
