M28: Enemy AIs always better than my allied AI
-
Hello there,
not sure if anyone has input here, but I just need to vent a little.
I really enjoy playing against M28, but playing with it never feels great. I've been trying lots of different combinations exclusively on Fields of Isis (different AIs, different starting positions, etc). The AI on my team always becomes really passive at some point and stops pulling its weight. It will build units, but never move them out into the field (including T4). The two enemies will eventually only focus on me and the ally AI will do nothing about it until the enemies eventually overpower both of us. I can handle a single AI, but a dead weight AI is somewhat frustrating.
The only setting that kind of worked was when I was playing with an Adaptive against two Easy AIs. But that just wasn't particularly challenging.
Is there anything the AI expects me to do that I'm missing?
Thanks for making M28, btw

I've played with an m28 adaptive against two m28 adaptives on this map. In the early game it was easy to take map control with it as it pushed with me. The only thing I noticed is because of the map control it was more likely to starting eco'ing while the enemies struggling to try regain map control. This resulted in the illusion of it not doing much, but then it had an experimental before I'd got to that point.
From a map control perspective it took 8 mins for the game to be some what decided. I imagine it would be similar for you depending on what your gameplay style is. I guess perhaps you could explain what type of strategy your using on this map?
Other question, are you playing against aix m28's? That could explain why it feels like your team mate isn't doing much. I usually find once you go past 1.2 m28 becomes really difficult.

Also try playing with shared armies enabled, which means M28 will assume your units will fight with it (as opposed to assuming itβll be going alone with any attack)

Just tried all Adaptive with shared armies and not only did my team mate play more active it almost seemed like the enemies were less aggressive. Will do more experimentation. Thanks for the pointers
